Samsung 30mm f/2 ‘pancake’ lens is the only prime lens in the NX series lenses. Like Samsung’s telephoto zoom 50-200mm f/4-5.6, it is designed for the use with the NX10 digital SLR camera. In 35mm format it delivers the equivalent focal length of 46.2mm.
The lens’s optical design includes 5 elements in 5 groups, with one aspherical element to help minimize various aberrations. There’re seven diaphragm blades in the lens which close to a circular aperture. Although no image stabilization is included into the lens, its f/2 maximum aperture value ensures its good low-light performance.
The 30mm f/2 pancake provides a 50.2-degree angle of view alongside with the minimum focusing distance of 25 cm, and a maximum magnification of 0.16x.
The front element is small and doesn’t rotate during focusing, so it is easy to use various attachments like filters and polarizers with a size of 43 mm.
The lens is small and fits perfectly the compact body of the NX10 DSLR. It measures only 21.5 mm long and 61.5 mm in diameter, while weighing just about 85 grams. Such low weight is achieved by using black polycarbonate as the lens body material.

Samsung 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED OIS lens is offered as the second kit zoom lens with the Samsung NX10 DSLR camera. It comes equipped with image stabilizer and is housed in a black polycarbonate body typical of other Samsung lenses.
The lens’s optical construction consists of 17 elements in 13 groups including two ED (extra-low dispersion) elements to improve light transmission and correct for chromatic aberrations. There’re seven diaphragm blades that form a circular aperture.
The 50-200mm f/4-5.6 is similar to other medium telephoto kit lenses manufactured by other companies for their digital SLRs. It delivers a picture angle of 31.4 to 8.0 degrees, has 98 cm minimum focus distance, 0.2x maximum magnification and takes 25mm filters.
The lens features internal focusing and zoom systems, which makes in convenient to use attachments like polarisers and graduated filters.
Build quality is quite good for the price of this lens – it has a solid, stainless steel mounting plate and comes supplied with a petal-shaped lens hood as well as with end caps and a soft carrying pouch. Though, there’s neither a distance scale nor a depth-of-field indicator.
