Let’s start with the Nikon D5000 that has gathered a great deal of attention lately. This 12.9 megapixel with DX-format CMOS sensor, 4fps continuous shooting and HD video capture has been reviewed at dpreview.com and they call its image quality and dynamic range undeniably impressive.

Digitalcamerainfo.com also did a reviewed of the D5000. They are a bit stricter - they found its noise performance good and liked the way it handled high-contrast scenes. But as to image sharpness, the camera didn’t meettheir high expectations.

Its lack of sharpness was also stated by Dcresource, but it is “like most of Nikon’s D-SLRs,” they said. Additionally, they mentioned the colors being generally pleasing, though reds could’ve been a bit more saturated.

The Pentax K-7, the most intriguing announcement of last month has been already reviewed – at photographyblog.com. Its specifications read like a keen photographer’s wish list and the image quality appeared to be very good with few drawbacks.

A non-SLR digital camera that uses interchangeable lenses, 12.1-megapixel Panasonic GH1 joins this company. Though it doesn’t have the mirror box and pentaprism arrangement, it produces image quality that is pretty close the Canon Rebel T1i’s. Its review has recently appeared at imaging-resource.com.

On the contrary, Photographyblog in their review state the GH1’s so-so image quality in low-light conditions, allthough praising the work of its video recording function.

And what about the Canon Rebel T1i (aka 500D in the US, naturally) itself? Well, it has recently won a review at digitalcamerareview.com. According to it, this 15.1-megapixel camera with APS-C sized CMOS sensor delivers excellent HD video quality, exceptional ISO performance, andaccurate color and dynamic range.

12-megapixel Olympus Evolt E-620 SLR camera that crosses the bridge between entry level models E520 and E-450 and the semiprofessional E-30 DSLR was reviewed at letsgodigital.org. They don’t complain much about its image quality but would like to see its signal/noise ratio improved.

Dcresource are really glad that such a camera can enter your home without breaking the bank.

And at last we have the Sony A-380 that was reviewed by letsgodigital.org. This 14.2-megapixel camera is the successor of the Alpha 350 though only its design is entirely new. As to image quality, it was slightly improved.

The Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS aka SD960 IS, a compact 12 megapixel  digital camera with a wide-angle zoom lens was reviewed at photographyblog.com. The camera uses 4x zoom with Optical  Image Stabilization and can shoot 720p HD video.

Its sibling the Canon Powershot SD970 IS got a review at digitalcamerareview.com. The camera  features 12.1 megapixels 5x optical zoom, 3.0 inch monitor and 1280×720 HD video capability – all in a metal body. The reviewer regrets only about the lack of manual exposure controls though image quality and color are first rate.

Another Canon, the Powershot  SX1, a 10-megapixel compact with CMOS sensor, 20X optical zoom, and 4 FPS continuous drive mode at full-resolution, was reviewed by neocamera.com. They’ve found a lot of downsides among its brilliant specs: loss of details  even at low ISO, high chromatic aberrations and limited dynamic range.

Still one more Canon - the PowerShot D10 - a rugged waterproof / shockproof / freezeproof camera with 12.1-megapixel sensor, DIGIC 4 image processor, and a 3x optical zoom lens has been recently reviewed, this time at imaging-resource.com. They assume that it’s a unique  underwater camera.

Cameras.co.uk has recently  reviewed the Olympus Stylus/MJU 7000, a 12-megapixel compact camera with 7x zoom, image stabilization and 3 inch LCD screen. The camera is said to be suitable for those who are searching for a smaller camera with some extra zoom.

Very close to the Stylus 7000 is the Olympus Stylus 9000, a 12-megapixel metal camera, with 10X stabilized zoom lens, a 2.7 inch LCD and plenty of scene modes. It was reviewed at asia.cnet.com, and they regret about its image quality that was slightly lower than it was expected. Nevertheless, it’s a nice user-friendly, long-zoom compact.

The Fuji Finepix F200exr, a 12 megapixel digital camera with 5x, wide angle lens, renowned for its improved performance for high contrast and lowlight photography, was also reviewed by cameras.co.uk. It produces good image quality in terms of sharpness and colors.

Steves-digicams.com have reviewed the Sony CyberShot T90 camera with 12.1 megapixels of resolution, a 4x optical zoom and 3-inch touch-panel LCD screen. Its images are good for a camera of this size and colors look very natural, they state.

Ricoh R10, a point-and-shoot metal camera featuring a 9.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, a 7.1X optical zoom, sensor-shift image stabilization, and 4 frame/second continuous shooting, was reviewed at dcresource.com. They CX1 call some of its features unique and useful, but still found it hard to recommend due to its mediocre image quality.

Cameras.co.uk have reviewed the CanonSD1200 Delph aka IXUS 95 IS, a 10-megapixel point-and-shoot ultra compact camera with 3X optical zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD and an optical viewfinder. They’ve found its very good all round picture quality and a great start up time.

Photographyblog has reviewed this camera as well. They define it as an undemanding snapper for the unpretentious photographer with very impressive build quality is, as well as speed of operation and design.

Dcresource.com have posted a review of the Sony CyberShot DSC-HX1. It features a 9.0-megapixel resolution, SMOS sensor 28mm wide angle 20x optical zoom lens. Despite such impressive specs, the reviewer stated that image quality is disappointing as it suffers from too much noise reduction.

Cameras.co.uk also support the idea that the camera’s quality is great if you put aside images quality it delivers.

Sony CyberShot DSC-T900, 12.1-megapixel ultracompact with 4x optical zoom and HD video function, was reviewed by trustedreviews.com. Sounds nice, but it costs a wallet-crushing £325. You can get an entry-level DSLR with a lens for less.

Digitalcamerainfo.com stated also the camera’s lack of useful controls and options. But image quality is not a problem as it delivers surprisingly excellent color accuracy and image stabilization, as well as the image sharpness.

Nikon Coolpix L100 as reviewed at reviews.cnet.com. The camera features 10 megapixels, 15x optical zoom, wide-angle lens, and a 3-inch LCD screen. It is a low-cost, easy-to-use megazoom. It has average image quality, but nothing surprising in it - this is no more than a basic point-and-shoot with a wide-angle lens and a 15x zoom.

Digitalcamerareview.com have reviewed the Casio Exilim FS10, a 9.1 megapixel camera with HD movie capabilities and an ability to shoot 6-megapixel images at 30fps. That’s nice! But poor low-light performance, limited zoom power and limited battery life didn’t run away from the reviewer’s attention.

Canon Powershot SD1200, a 10-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and a number of features that make it easy to use, was also reviewed by digitalcamerareview.com. This camera gets higher mark – they state its great Autofocus and ISO settings performance. Though nothing is perfect - when magnified, some images are noisy and grainy.

Hi, I’ve come today with recent DSLR camera reviews round-up.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, a full-frame DSLR camera with 21-megapixel CMOS sensor, 1080p video, 3.0″ VGA LCD and Live view was reviewed at digitalcamerareview.com. It shows excellent high ISO performance but slow burst mode is slow as well as autofocus in low light.

See a new review of the Nikon D3x, 24.5 megapixel, full-frame professional DSLR camera at imaging-resource.com. Its highlights are 51-point AF system, EXPEED engine with 16-bit image processing, 3-inch LCD screen, Live View and the 50-6400 ISO range.

Cameralabs.com have reviewed the Canon EOS 500D (Rebel T1i), a  15.1-megapixel DSLR camera with 22.3 x 14.9mm image sensor, 3 inch LCD with 920,000 dots and a burst rate of 3.4 frames per second. Dpreview have also reviewed this camera and they regret that RAW files don’t provide extra image quality compared to shooting in JPEG.

The Olympus E-620, a 12.3 Megapixel DSLR with built-in anti-shake facilities, Live View, a 2.7in screen and a continuous shooting of 4fps was reviewed at cameralabs.com. As to image quality, they say, the E-620 kit can out-perform the Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i kit in a number of respects, despite the bigger sensor and three extra Megapixels of its rival.

Photographyblog call the E-620 “one of the cheapest and most full-featured mid-range SLR cameras, with compact size and light weight, and excellent image quality in good light.” Though they note that there’s the lack of ability to shoot video.

Olympus E-450, a 10-megapixel light DSLR camera with a 2.7 inch LCD screen, 3 in-camera Art Filter effects and an improved Live View mode with contrast detection autofocus and and face detection in Live View mode, was reviewed at photographyblog.com.

The Nikon D5000 DSLR was reviewed by cameralabs.com. It features a 12 Megapixel CMOS sensor, sensitivity range of ISO200-3200 and burst mode of 4fps ISO. This is ‘upper-entry-level’ DSLR aimed at beginners or those wanting a step-up from a basic camera.

Letsgodigital.org, in their turn praise the Nikon D5000’s signal/noise ratio is definitely on a high level, as well as the dynamic range and the exposure.

And, finally, small, light and easy-to-use Pentax K2000/K-m DSLR camera featuring 10.2-megapixel resolution, 2.7 inch, 230,000 dot-high resolution, wide view LCD panel, Shake Reduction and Dust Reduction was reviewed at reviews.cnet.com.

10-megapixel Canon SD1200 (aka Digital IXUS 95 IS), stylish and ultra-compact point-and-shoot camera, was reviewed at neocamera.com. It is stated that it produces images of good quality and performs admirably well in all areas, but have a tendency towards over-exposure.

Cameras.co.uk have reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC FX580 (aka FX 550 in Europe). It is an ultra compact touch-screen digital camera that boasts 12-megapixel resolution, 5x optical zoom, 25mm wide angle lens and Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto mode for point-and-shoot operation. The author of the review stated that they would be very happy to own one.

Compact ultra-zoom (10x) camera with 8.1 megapixel, Sony’s intelligent auto technology, and 720p HD video recording, the Sony CyberShot H20 was reviewed by dpreview.com. They’ve found it or less all right from an image quality point of view but the camera definitely lacks versatility.

Canon PowerShot A1100 has been recently reviewed by cameras.co.uk. It’s a brand new member of the popular PowerShot A- series range of compact digital cameras and features 12.1 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, true optical viewfinder and optical image stabilizer. It produces surprisingly good image quality.

Cameras.co.uk have also reviewed the Canon Powershot SX200 IS, a compact 12.1- megapixel digital camera, with 12x zoom and 28mm wide-angle lens. Besides its full manual controls mode, the camera takes in advantage in offering very good picture quality. “You are unlikely to find much better quality elsewhere.”

On the contrary, the reviewers from Letsgodigital.com state that Canon PowerShot SX200 IS provides fine results in terms of  the signal/noise ratio and high ISOs.  Still, Canon does drop a stitch when it comes to chromatic aberration, which diminishes the generally high image quality.

Nikon Coolpix L100 is a 10-megapixel mid-price ultrazoom with its 28mm wide-angle 15x zoom lens and optical image stabilization. Photographyblog.com in their review state that it’s wonderful to have such a zoom in your camera but unfortunately it belongs to the most under-featured cameras within the highly competitive segment of superzoom cameras.
