The camera is equipped with 28 mm wide-angle lens, which allows you to place more subjects and objects into a frame without having to step back. There’s so mechanical stabilizer in the camera, but it allows you to raise sensitivity up to ISO1600 to achieve bright and clear photos in low light (though, they may be noisy).

The M90 offers the advanced Auto Picture mode for beginners, which automatically sets the most appropriate shooting mode to match the scene being shot. There’re also 20 pre-set scene modesin the camera.

They include an Auto-Panorama mode to stitch several photos in one wide picture, a Backlight mode to capture bright picture against the light, and an Auto-tracking mode to keep moving subjects in focus and thus avoid bur caused by subject movement.

The camera has all necessary function to get perfect portraits of your friends and family - an upgraded Face Detection AF & AE function to apply correct exposure and focus to faced detected in a frame, Smile function to trigger the shutter automatically just the moment your subject smiles, and Blink detection that warns you about closed eyes.

Pentax unveiled yesterday (10.03.10) its long-awaited medium format DSLR whose development was announced in March 2005. So here comes the Pentax 645D featuring CCD sensor with 40 megapixels of resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio.

The camera share many features with the company’s sub-frame prosumer models, the K-7. These include Real Image Engine II (PRIME II) image processor, Dust Removal II (DR II) mechanism and weather-sealed body to resist dust, moisture and cold temperatures down to -10° Celsius.

The 645D also boasts a high-resolution 3.0″ LCD display with 100% field of view and 921,000 dots, a trapezoid prism viewfinder offering 98% field of view and 11-point phase detection AF system with auto and manual point selection.

Other features include copyright tagging, a digital level function, in-camera HDR, dynamic range expansion and distortion / aberration correction. There’s also a Color Temperature Enhancement white balance mode to help emphasis color of sunsets.

There’re Aperture & Stutter priority and Manual shooting modes in the camera as well as eight creative modes that allow setting contrast, saturation, hue, sharpness, and more.

Shutter speeds range from 1/4000 to 30 seconds plus bulb mode while sensitivity ranges from 100 to 1600. The camera can also shoot at a speed of 1.1 frames per second for 15 JPEG or 13 Raw frames.The images can be stored on SD or SDHC cards using two SD card slots.

The camera is initially available only in Japan from mid-May 2010 with the pricing set at equivalent US$8,900.

Pentax introduces its eleventh generation Optio W90 rugged digital camera featuring 12 megapixels of resolution, 2.7-inch LCD screen, 5x optical zoom, HD movie capture and Eye-Fi connectivity.

PENTAX Imaging Company announced the latest model to its ultrazoom line, the Pentax X90. It takes on the company’s X70 model and features 12 megapixels, 26x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD screen, full manual controls and HD movie capture.

The camera’s lens has 26 mm wide angle capabilities and 26x magnification with its impressive optical zoom. The lens also delivers 1 cm (0.4 inches) macro focus length, which proves its versatility. There’s no optical stabilizer in the lens, but the camera has sensor-shift image stabilization to ensure blur-free images.

The X90 offers maximum controls over your images it its aperture & shutter priority and manual shooting modes. There’s also an Auto Picture mode which detect the shooting situation and automatically selects the optimum scene from eight common scenes. You can as well select the scene yourself – there’ a wide choice of 20 pre-set scene modes in the camera.

The camera has all the necessary functions for perfect portrait shots – Face Detection of up to 32 faces in a frame, Smile capture and Blink detection. There’s also AF Tracking function in the camera to keep moving subjects in focus.

The X90 cam shoot 5mp images at up to 11 fps continuous speed, has built-in Wi-Fi capability and supports Eye-Fi wireless SD memory cards. It goes on sale in the USA from April 2010 at a planned price of $400.

PENTAX Optio I-10 is a newly announced digital compact camera that looks like Auto 110 micro-SLRs. It features 12-megapixel sensor, 2.7″ LCD, 5x optical zoom and 720p HD movie shooting. In addition to its eye-catching designs the camera offers a wide range of advanced functions.

The 28mm wide-angle lens easily handles landscapes, architecture and group shots in a confined space, as well as photos shot from a distance. Its Intelligent Zoom function allows to extend the zoom range to approximately 31.3 times. The lens is also equipped with sensor-shake image stabilization to prevent blurring.

The Optio I-10 doesn’t allow for much control over camera settings. Instead, it offers its Auto Picture mode and a selection of 22 Scene modes, among which one can find Digital panorama and High-Sensitivity anti-shake mode. There’s also a D-range setting in the camera, which task is to prevent whitewashed (overexposed) and blacked-out (underexposed) areas in an image.

The camera also offers upgraded Face Detection AF & AE function that even detects the faces of dogs and cats. It can detect up to 32 faces in a frame and give priority to per-registered faces in group shots.

To add fun to the process of shooting the Optio I-10 offers an array of creative digital filters that add various visual effects to recorded images. Furthermore, you can male use of the camera’s Original Frame function to apply a decorative frame and/or letters/characters to a recorded image.

The camera also features the new and innovative Subscreen Input function, which displays a thumbnail of a recorded image in the upper left corner of the LCD panel. This function comes in handy when you want to shoot subjects from the same angle and at the same image size as in this image.

This is a quick performer that produces good looking images and movies yet sometimes overexposure is an issue. It has intriguing appearance and is easy to hold, but its tripod socket is made of plastic and its battery compartment cover is rather fragile.
