The PENTAX Optio W80 is the latest PENTAX digital camera - waterproof, dustproof, coldproof and shockproof! It features 12.1 megapixels, a 5x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle lens, HD movie shooting options and a 2.5 inch LCD monitor in a slim one inch body.

The PENTAX Optio W80’s waterproof design withstands depths of up to 16 feet (5 meters) and protects it from rain and spills. On dry land, the rugged, shockproof design protects against drops of up to 3.3 feet. The camera’s coldproof design allows it to be used in temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius).

The camera’s wide angle lens offers an expanded perspective that is ideal for landscape and group shots. The lens itself is said to deliver high-quality images with well-defined details. A Super Protect (SP) coating protects it from repel water, grime and finger marks.

Pentax has announced a new compact digital camera – the Pentax Optio E75. This economic, rather compact and well-achieved camera is equipped with a 10-megapixel sensor and a 3x optical zoom. The camera features also a bright 2.7″ LCD with 230 000 pixels.

This little Optio is very simple and offers no optical stabilization. Its sensitivity stops at 1600 ISO. It however offers Face detection coupled with a face-priority mode to settle focus and exposure on the faces of your subjects, but also automatic Smile detection which makes the camera trigger automatically when your subject smiles.

The camera is totally automatic and is designed for people who prefer to point and shoot. The Optio E75 offers the usual scene modes such as Sports, Portrait, Sunset, Night and Landscape, modes. The camera automatically detects and sets itself on the right scene mode.

In its video mode, with unlimited duration and VGA quality the camera produced small resolution , 540×480 pixel movies, at 30 frames per second.

The Optio E75 runs on standard or rechargeable AA batteries and being able to use rechargeable batteries can come in handy. The camera will be available in mid-June 2009.

So, we see that the camera’s technical specs are rather standard, because it is an economic product, but to compensate for it, it has polished design, a chic black exterior and format.
