Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm f2.8 is a digital-dedicated, thin, lightweight single-focus standard pancake-type lens fully compliant with the Four Thirds System standard for digital SLR cameras. When combined with Olympus E-410 or E-420, the total length including the camera body and lens is only 76.5 mm. The result is an easy-to-store, easy-to-carry camera system with go-anywhere portability.
With a focal distance equivalent to 50 mm on a 35 mm film camera lens, this lens provides an image angle very close to that of the naked eye, which makes this an ideal standard lens for daily use, whether for simple snapshots or for more sophisticated portrait and landscape shooting.
The ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm f2.8’s high-image-quality design involves the usage of double-sided aspherical lens components in order to reduce the lens length and provide optimal aberration correction, achieving a sharp, clear image just like a single-focus lens. A specially formulated lens coating optimized for shooting against light minimizes ghosts and flares. With a high open aperture f-value of 2.8 and a circular aperture diaphragm, this lens lets you create beautiful soft-focus images and take advantage of natural defocusing effects.
The lens presents excellent close-up shooting capability with minimum distance of 13 centimeters from the front of the lens.
The lens cap is made of aluminium and screws onto the lens. This ensures a sleek, streamlined exterior appearance.

Olympus announces the ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-54mm f2.8-3.5 II Four Thirds System lens, developed as a successor to the 14-54mm f2.8-3.5 introduced in October 2003 and compatible with the Olympus E-3 & E-1 Digital SLR Camera.
The new lens boasts bright 3.9x wide angle standard zoom, High-Speed Imager AF and circular aperture. It is scheduled for sale in Japan on December 20.
ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses comply with the Four Thirds System standard and are specifically designed to maximize the performance potential of digital SLR image sensors. Thanks to its support for , the new lens can be teamed with the Olympus E-30, E-520, and E-420 digital SLR cameras enabling users to enjoy responsive AF Live View shooting. And with the new E-30, users can even confirm the results of Art Filter effects on the LCD.
For focusing, the lens uses a floating & inner focus mechanism, with excellent imaging performance from infinity down to the minimum focusing distance, showing minimal aberration even at extremely close range. A circular aperture mechanism maximizes the smooth defocusing characteristics that are a key advantage of large-aperture lens design.
Compact size, high image quality, and f2.8 brightness were achieved by optimal arrangement of 3 aspherical lens elements and 4 cemented lens elements. The result is ‘one-class-up’ sharpness and contrast, with minimal distortion for superior imaging performance over the entire zoom range.
Lens coatings have been optimized to minimize ghosting and flaring even on backlit shots taken with the sun in the frame. Exterior joints are sealed to assure splash- and dust-proof high enough to withstand the demands of professional use.

The Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm F/2.8-4 SWD is a standard Four Thirds lens which means it will work on any Four Thirds body. As there’s no built-in optical stabilisation, so if you want anti-shake, you’ll need a stabilised body like the Olympus E-510, E-520 or E-3 and also Panasonic L-10.
It is one of first Olympus lenses to feature its Supersonic Wave Drive (SWD) focusing that SWD allows the lens to focus quickly and quietly. The combination of the 12-60mm with the flagship E-3 yields the World’s fastest autofocus.
The 12-60mm lens delivers a 5x optical range that’s equivalent to 24-120mm, allowing decent wide angle to respectable telephoto coverage – this makes it an ideal general-purpose lens. The f2.8-4 focal ratio is also brighter than most lenses from rival manufacturers with similar optical ranges.
The lens itself is tough and both dust and splash-proof, although for full sealing you’ll need a matching body like the E-3. Unlike most Four Thirds lenses to date, the 12-60mm doesn’t employ motor-assisted manual focusing. Instead it uses a more traditional mechanically-linked focus system.
With a flexible range, fast focal ratio, quick and quiet focusing along with decent build quality, the Zuiko Digital 12-60mm sounds ideal for any Four Thirds owner who wants a premium quality general-purpose lens. It combines a useful wideangle for landscapes and architecture with a telephoto extending nicely into the classic ‘portrait’ range.
