Minox DC 1222 is a compact digital camera that would suit a budget photographer who wants to have a simple device and get good photos at the same time. The camera’s highlights include 12- megapixel CCD image sensor, 4x optical zoom and 2.7-inch LCD screen.
It is equipped with a MINOCTAR-branded lens that offer 28mm angle of view at the wider end, which allows you to capture more space than it would be possible with 35mm lens. However, its maximum aperture disappoints – it ranges from f/3.0 to f/5.8 across the zoom range, which males the lens let less light through.
The camera’s features point-and-shoot operation and doesn’t allow much control over its settings, whether it is exposure, white balance or focusing, but it is not necessary for its target audience. It offers +/-2.0 EV of exposure compensation in 1/3 EV steps and ISO ranging from 64 to 1,600 equivalents. For low-light shooting, you can use a built-in flash strobe with 5 modes.
The DC1222 offer 32 Mb of internal memory and takes SD or SDHC memory cards (sold separately). It is powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, weighs only 114 grams and measures just 19 millimeters at the thinnest part.
The software that comes with this camera includes Arcsoft Media Impression, Print Creations, and Panorama Maker.

Minox has just announced the Minox DC 1044, a 10-megapixel digital camera with 3x optical zoom lens and 3-inch rear LCD screen. The camera is slim at only 18.8 mm in the thickest point and its weight of just 116 grams makes it true lightweight and pocket-friendly.
