The Latest Evolution of Carbon Tripods - Manfrotto 055CX Series

    January 27th, 2009
The Latest Evolution of Carbon Tripods - Manfrotto 055CX Series

Manfrotto’s latest carbon fiber tripod series the 055CX was developed to meet the needs of the professionals and photography enthusiasts who want the best in performance and quality. The carbon tripod range offers PRO and Economical Version, including three models: 055CXPRO3, 055CXPRO4 and 055CX3.

All the locking collars, levers and main castings have been redesigned for users to get reliable, ergonomic and lighter tripods. 100% carbon fiber tubes were used, which resulted in the quality and performance – it is uncompromised. To improve ergonomics the new angle selector levers have been designed.

High-quality “Pull-Winding” technology has been used in order to guarantee constant high quality tube construction. The structure combines a perfect harmony between the number of layers and angle of the fiber directions. It creates optimum balance between rigidity and compression resistance.

PRO Models central castings are made out of magnesium. They feature the renowned Q90° - Quick Center Column System, patented by Manfrotto. It allows positioning of the central column horizontally without having to remove the head or the column itself.

The top plate has also been improved. Now they come with a magnesium top plate which features a bubble to help in leveling the tripod and camera.

All the new features add to light weight & solidity, which is sometimes critical in choosing the right tripod for your camera.
