Mamiya has announced the new RZ33 camera system that includes camera body and digital back 33 megapixel CCD sensor. This innovation brings the company’s well-known RZ-system to a large-sensor digital community.

The RZ33 is based upon a 48×36mm CCD sensor that boasts the resolution of 33 megapixels. Its light sensitivity ranges from ISO50 to ISO800. The camera captures 16-bit-per-channel raw files and saves them in .mos file format.

The camera is equipped with a large, 2.4 x 2.7 inch / 6×7cm LCD touchscreen. It also takes a variety of interchangeable viewfinders. It comes with a waist-level finder, but you can use one of the eye-level prisms as well, such as the AE Prism Finder FE701.

The camera’s features include RZ’s trademark Vertical-Horizontal rotation and Precise Rack and pinion bellows focusing.

The RZ33 is compatible with all Mamiya RZ system lenses with built-in leaf-shutters. They offer shutter speeds from 8 to 1/400sec. (and a special setting for up 32 seconds); and electronic flash synchronization is achieved at all shutter speeds.

The camera also takes optional Power Winder 2 powered by AA batteries or an AC Adapter. It cocks the shutter and resets the mirror automatically and produces single or sequential exposures at ~ 1 fps. It can also be controlled remotely.

Mamiya has announced the new DM40 medium format camera and a digital back of the same name to join its lineup of professional large-sensor DSLRs.

The camera features a resolution of 40 megapixels, 44 x 33 mm sensor, and shoots at 0.8 seconds per frame and 60 frames per minute. It also offers a true 16 bit/channel RAW capture, and sensitivity ranging between ISO 80-800.

The DM40 Digital Back was created for those who want to obtain digital capture for their existing large format camera. It has the same features as that of the camera itself and can be used with Mamiya 645AFD and 645DF series without any adapter as well as with Mamiya RZ and RB series and 4×5 view cameras via optional adapter.
The DM40 digital back can be used with compatible medium or large format cameras via an adapter.

The DM40 system is based on “DF” camera-core technology that makes it possible to choose between two user-selectable shutter systems: leaf or focal plane.

So, photographers can use one of three new leaf-shuttered lenses available in focal lengths of 55mm, 80mm, and 110mm and delivering an effective maximum predictable flash sync speed of up to 1/1600th of a second.

Mamiya has announced the availability of its new DM22 and DM28 medium format cameras. They are the perfect choice for photographers when 35mm-sized DSLRs are not good enough.

Priced at $9,995 for the body and kit lens, DM22 is one of the cheapest medium format cameras. It offers 22 megapixels of resolution, a 48 x 36 mm sensor, true 16 bit/channel RAW files, dynamic range of 12 f stops and an ISO range of 25-400.

The DM28 features 28 megapixels, a larger 44 x 33mm sensor and an ISO range of 50-800. It is priced at $14,990 for the body and kit lens.

Mamiya Digital Imaging announced new M series digital backs for the Mamiya 645AFDIII medium-format camera. They include three new models: the M18, M22 and M31.

The M series digital backs have all been designed for compatibility with Mamiya’s 645AFDIII. Through use of the digital back adapter HX701, they can also be attached to the RZ Pro IID. Each digital back can be purchased separately or in a system kit with the Mamiya 645AFDIII camera and Sekor 80mm F2.8 D lens.

These large sized CCDs make the digital backs ideal for medium format photography. The M series backs are the necessity for commercial photographers and studios, covering portraiture and on location work. All these backs feature live preview delivered on a 2.2”, 230,000-dot monitor.
