So here comes the Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera, featuring high-quality full 1080p High Definition video capture in a sleek body. The camera is also able to capture 5-megapixel 16:9 still images.

The slim and stylish Kodak Zi8 is designed to meet your needs at the touch of a button - no lens cap, dials to turn or settings to adjust. It can record of up to 10 hours of HD video. Besides, its expandable SD/SDHC card slot holds up to 32GB.

This video camera offers you built-in electronic image stabilization for sharper videos and reduced blurring and Smart Face Tracking technology to capture family and friends in their best light.

The Kodak Zi8 also provides one-button upload to Facebook and YouTube. Use its flexible swing-out USB arm for fast uploading, sharing, and charging.

The Kodak EasyShare Z980 is Kodak’s current ultrazoom compact digital camera featuring a 24x optical zoom, 3.0 inch LCD screen and 12 megapixel sensor. It also houses 720p HD video capability, full manual controls and a RAW file format.

The Kodak Z980 is said to feature good responsive performance, including fast power up, shot-to-shot and click-to–capture.

The camera allows maximum creativity by the ability to manually control the camera – there are program auto, aperture and shutter priority, and fully manual exposure options like on DSLRs and more advanced compacts.

For those who are new to photography the Z980 offer a fully automatic “Smart Capture” mode. It incorporates Intelligent Scene Detection to analyze scene conditions; Intelligent Scene Capture to set focus, exposure and ISO; and Intelligent Image Processing to reduce noise and clear up shadows.

You can also select from a number of scenes available: high ISO, night portrait, landscape, night landscape, flower, sunset, backlight, candlelight, manner/museum, text, beach, snow, fireworks, children, self-portrait, and stage. For great shots of friends and family, Face Detection is available. It locates faces and automatically adjusts camera settings.

The camera is good in terms of image and color quality and quick shutter response. Noise is acceptable only up to ISO200 though you can set even ISO6400 in the Z980. And the camera is quite power-hungry – its battery life is relatively short.

Picture quality is not great: noise is evident even at the slowest ISO speed of 64, limiting the Z980 to hand-held use in good lighting conditions only. It also has a tendency to over-saturate the colors. And the 24x zoom lens suffers from a general lack of sharpness and obvious barrel distortion at wide-angle settings.

Image quality is good - with excellent color, and high levels of saturation and contrast with fairly good detail. Noise levels were slightly higher than average. The camera does a good job focusing most of the time, even indoors. There was some vignetting (darkened corners) especially when using full zoom.
