The Sanyo VPC-WH1 is a waterproof “Dual Camera” that features HD video capabilities and 30x optical zoom and is appropriate for consumers and enthusiasts alike.
This Dual-Camera is very ergonomic and feels great in your hands. It’s very small and features the 2.5-inch LCD.
First of all, this VPC-WH1 shoots 1280×720 HD video at 30fps. That means all your underwater video is going to look very good on both Vimeo and YouTube. Unfortunately, the VPC- WH1 does not have a video light of any sort, so some of your images may turn out a bit noisy. However, image quality actually looks quite good for this camcorder.
The Sanyo VPC-WH1 can shoot 2MP photos which is good enough for posting online. It captures JPEGs at 13fps. Its 30x Optical Zoom works very well and its focusing is satisfactory. The camcorder also houses the “Face Chaser” technology works well and focuses very sharply on the people around.
Sanyo chose the interesting color of yellow for this camcorder. So if users drop the camcorder in water it can be found because of its bright color. However, it comes in blue as well. The camera is perfect for a traveler or tourist very well so long as they are shooting with enough light. This camera can be used without fear in the rain.

There is a special offer at Amazon.co.uk for those who want to have a simple waterproof camera and don’t want to pay much for it. The EasyPix W530 is the cheapest water resistant camera I ever saw.
This is a simple point-and shoot digital camera. Lightweight and compact, it is not very rich in specs. However it incorporates SMOS Sensor: 5-megapixel in size, it can produce up to interpolated 12 megapixels of resolution, which is suitable for large prints.
In terms of zoom the camera is left behind time - it has no optical zoom at all! The manufacture compensates it with 8x digital zoom, but this is really nothing. Nevertheless the camera can shoot 640*480 movies with sound, and continuous shooting mode is available. The camera houses 32 Mb of in-built memory and is compatible with SD memory cards up to 2 GB.
The camera is waterproof down to 3 meters and can be used in salt water. So, taking into account its price, the camera appears to be ideal for kids at their summer holidays)

Genius, a brand division of KYE Systems Corp., has announced a new pocket-sized high-definition digital video camera that alongside with 5-megapixel video can capture 11-megapixel still images. It is said to deliver exceptional quality output to today’s high-resolution flat panel TVs.
The device is portable enough to allow users to capture activities anytime, anywhere. This easy-to-use camcorder is ideal for summer time outings, dads-n-grads, or anyone looking to capture life’s moments in brilliant color and detail.
The G-Shot HD520 comes with a 7.1 mm lens, a 5X digital zoom, and a Li-ion rechargeable battery. It features also an ultra-bright 2.5” LTPS LCD screen that can rotate up to 270-degrees to allow users to shoot videos from any angle or position.
The G-Shot HD520 has a Face Detection function to track and detect faces accurately. The Electronic Image Stabilizers (EIS) detects and corrects hand-shaking when shooting photos (though I wish it were optical image stabilization). Additionally, the Z-Lighting technology enhances brightness in low-light environments.
The G-Shot easily outputs to today’s high-resolution flat-panel televisions using the included HDMI cable for theatre-like viewing or video and photos can be easily uploaded to a computer for digital editing, archiving or sharing with friends. The G-Shot HD520 is both Windows (Vista/XP/2000) and Mac (OS10 or higher) compatible. It supports additional SDHC memory cards with up to 8GB of storage.
The G-Shot HD520 is quite a versatile device; apart from shooting video or taking pictures it can also be used for listening to music, reading e-books, playing voice recordings, so it can function as a portable media player.
