AgfaPhoto unveiled 2 new wide-angle cameras with HDR function, the Optima 103 and Optima 104 models. They are slim yet packed with innovative automatic technologies like face and smile detection and HDR image capture. Both incorporate the red shutter button of renowned AgfaPhoto design.
The Optima 103 boasts 12-megapixels of resolution, 4x optical zoom and a 29mm wide-angle lens for large group and landscape shots – all housed in a thin body measuring just 16.9mm. Apart from the usual image aspect ration, it offers the High Definition picture resolution (16:9).
The camera offers amateur photographers 30 creative scene modes to satisfy their need to a full extent. For Internet auctioneers it provides the Auction mode, which puts various perspectives of the same image onto one picture.
There’s also a 640 x 480 pixel resolution so that you can get picture suitable for uploading to Internet sites without having to resize them on your PC.
The Optima 104 is also a 12-megapixel digital camera with the same 4x optical zoom lens with the same wide-angle capabilities. It differs from its sister model in the fact that it features a 3” touchscreen LCD for easy snapping with a touch of a finger and their further accurate preview. The camera measures 18mm in the thinnest part and is housed in an elegant metal body.
The camera offers on-screen help as well as the Smart scene-mode technology for first-time users. This technology helps the camera calculate brightness, contrast, distance and color hue and select the best capture mode for the scene being shot.
Both models feature the High Dynamic Range mode, in which they take multiple shots with different exposures and join them together into one photo with high contrast and evenly exposed highlights and shadowy areas.
The cameras will be are available in retail shops and online stores as of April.

AgfaPhoto is presenting three new digital cameras from its OPTIMA series, at IFA 2009 in Berlin - the OPTIMA 1, the OPTIMA 100 and the OPTIMA 102. All of them feature point-and-shoot operation but are packed with lots of technical features.They will be available in September.
The cameras feature 12-megapixel resolution (10 MP for the OPTIMA 100), 3x optical zoom (5x for the OPTIMA 1) and 2.7” LCD Screen (3” for the OPTIMA 102). Note also that the OPTIMA 1 features 28mm wide-angle lens.
These Agfaphoto cameras are very easy to use, with their self-explanatory menu instructions and up to 30 program functions that ensure good picture quality, so even beginners can take great shots. Besides, all of them can be used to take high definition (HD) photos with an image resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, in 16:9 format.
The new cameras can shoot great portraits as they feature face recognition, smile & blink recognition, which guarantees that taking photos will be fun and hassle-free.By activating the beauty shot mode, the camera will also automatically touch up small skin imperfections, and renders a smooth, and soft color tone on photographed faces.

AgfaPhoto has announced the DC-600uw rugged compact camera. It is water-resistant up to 10 meters and can withstand pressure of up to two bar (29psi). The camera itself features 6 megapixels, a 2.4″ LCD and includes Face Tracking and video recording for easy sharing on YouTube.
Apart from its blue color its specs are modest - six megapixel resolution, 5x digital zoom, high degree of light sensitivity up to ISO 1600, and support for the most common scene modes. Nevertheless, it features face tracking function that automatically recognizes faces, and brings them into clear focus.
Using the camera is promised to be incredibly easy, even when snorkeling and diving. The unique red quick selection button allows for quick change from land mode to underwater mode, while the 2.4 inch display helps select what to shoot.
The AgfaPhoto DC-600uw is also ready for any outdoor adventure. Whether mountain biking or playing volleyball at the beach - the camera’s robust construction protects it if accidentally dropped, and also protects it against dust and dirt.
The camera weighs 131 grams, and fits easily into almost any pocket or bag. Priced at €149, it will be made available next month.
