Nikon Coolpix S5100 ia a 12.2-megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera optimized for shooting in low-light conditions. It offers 5x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD screen and High Definition movie capture - housed into a rounded metal body.

The camera’s lens delivers 28mm angle of view for capturing extra wide scenes in tough space. It is also equipped with a lens-shift VR (Vibration Reduction) optical image stabilization to prevent blur caused by camera shake.

The S5100 also has an enhanced Motion Detection feature to help you achieve clear and crisp images in low light. It detects movement in a frame and feels when the camera is mounted on a tripod and then makes a decision whether to raise ISO or prolong the time of exposure (in other words to increase shutter speed) depending on your situation.

At the heart of the camera lies the new EXPEED C2 image processing system for quicker feedback so you will always catch the moment. The engine also provides for high-def video recording at 1280 x 720-pixel resolution and ensures true-to-life image capture.

The camera comes with the ViewNX 2 software to simplify the process of importing and editing your still images as well as movies.
