    April 29th, 2010
    Casio Exilim EX-H15 Point-and-Shoot

What’s new: There’s a full review of this camera at PhotographyBlog!

CasioExilim EX-H15 is a 14-megapixel digital camera with a powerful lens, 460K-dot 3” LCD screen and a full range of automatic function for easy shooting. The digicam can also capture HD 1280×720p movies at 30 fps.

The camera’s lens boasts 10x optical zoom range, as well as wide-angle capabilities. It offers 24mm angle of view at the wider end, which make it stand out of the crowd and become a really handy device when it comes to shooting in tough space as you can everyone and everything into a frame. The lens’s performance is enhanced by CCD-shift image stabilization that combats blur caused by camera shake.

The H15 incorporates the speedy EXILIM Engine 5.0 that processes images quickly and at the same time uses advanced noise reduction mechanism to produce beautiful images with true-to-life color reproduction and rich tonal gradation.

The camera features point and shoot operation which is fun by its Premium Auto function. It detects the scene being photographed, analyses the key elements of the composition and then adjusts camera settings to match the scene and to get the best shot possible.

There’re also some very interesting functions in the Dynamic Photo, for instance Advanced Dynamic Photo and Art Shot. The Dynamic Photo function allows you to cut moving subjects from the background of images taken with the continuous shooting function, and combine them with a different still image or moving images while the Art Shot function adds the feel of a painting to your sceneries and portraits.

    Camera Reviews:

    Photographyblog.com:
The camera should be on the list of anyone looking for an able travel companion that can return decent results with the minimum of fuss and prior knowledge. It may not be the prettiest or coolest device out there, but it’s practical and sometimes that’s all that matters.

    Hasselblad H4D-40 Medium Format Camera

    April 27th, 2010
    Hasselblad H4D-40 Medium Format Camera

Hasselblad extends its line of H4D line medium format cameras with the addition of the H4D-40 model. It features 40 megapixels of resolution and a well-praised True Focus technology that was used previously on earlier Hasselblad camera bodies.

Medium format cameras are also known to have high-resolution sensors, and it is not accidental. “The larger format of the H System cameras provides a considerably shallower depth of field range, making it much easier to utilize selective focus to creative effect”, explains Hasselblad CEO Larry Hansen.

The camera incorporates a 33 x 44mm CCD image sensor, which is almost twice the size of a full-frame 35mm DSLR sensor, and the new Absolute Position Lock (APL) processor that is the foundation of the True Focus feature as it quickly carries out the required focus corrections so that no shutter lag occurs.

The H4D-40’s sensor features new low noise color filters and Natural Color Solution (HNCS) system to achieve true-to-life color reproduction.

The camera is compatible with high performance HC/HCD lenses that provide for increased clarity and increased depth of field while the digital lens correction (DAC), used in the camera, and removes distortion, vignetting, and chromatic aberrations.

The True Focus system offers great creative possibilities while ensuring technical accuracy at close distance with shallow depth-of-field. It is handy when a photographer wants to focus on a subject outside the center area. In this case, he or she should first lock focus on the subject and then re-compose the image, which often causes focus error. The True Focus system solves this problem.

    • 40 Megapixels of Resolution
    • CCD Image Sensor
    • Sensor Size: 33 x 44mm
    • ‘True Focus’ AF System
