Hassenblad H4D-60 and H4D-50 Medium Format Cameras

Hasselblad has introduced two new cameras to its H System of medium format cameras featuring revolutionary True Focus functionality.
The launch of the new cameras represents the natural evolution of Hasselblad H System. They are built upon the successful H3D platform and also come bundled with our new Phocus 2.0 imaging software.
The first model in the new series is the H4D-60, featuring a 60 Megapixel medium format sensor. The second one, the H4D-50 uses 50-megapixel sensor.
The H4D-60 will feature True Focus with APL (Absolute Position Lock), making auto-focus much easier and more accurate throughout the image field. It takes AF to a new level.
Most DSLRs are equipped with a multi-point AF sensor that is often inflexible to work with and doesn’t cope well with focusing outside central area of the image. Its off-center focus points are all clustered relatively close to the center of the image. To set focus outside of this center area, you are forced to focus first, and then shift the camera to reframe. This may result in the loss of focus, especially in short distances.
With the Hasselblad True Focus System you still have to focus and then recompose your image, but as you do it, the APL processor accurately logs camera movement and according to this calculation automatically adjusts focus to correct the vertical and horizontal positioning of the camera.
At the heart of both cameras philosophy lies Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) Technology for consistent color reproduction, and digital lens correction for each image captured through the HC/HCD lenses. The latter completely removed distortion, vignetting or chromatic aberrations.
The H4D-60 will be available for delivery in November, and the H4D-50 - in the first quarter of the following year.
