Cosina Voigtländer has announced the launch of its two new remarkably compact lenses for modern SLR cameras – the Color Skopar 20mm f3.5 SL II Aspherical and the Ultron 40mm f2 SL II Aspherical. The both lenses has actually been available, but in Nikon and Pentax Mounts. Now Cosina launches their Canon mounts as well.

The Cosina Color Skopar 20mm f3.5 SL II Aspherical is a manual-focus ultra wide-angle lens. It delivers an angle of view of 94° on full-frame and film cameras. As to its optical design it includes 9 elements in 6 groups. Currently, it can only be purchased in Japan for 58,000 yen (~640$), with the LH-20 lens hood available separately.

The Cosina Ultron 40mm f2 SL II Aspherical “pancake” lens is also a manual-focus lens. It is compact itself and its Canon version can easily be called the most compact EF mount lens ever made and offer a fast maximum aperture of f/2. It offers an angle of view of 57° on full-frame and film SLRs and is constructed of six elements in five groups. As with the Color Skopar, it can only be purchased in Japan but for a slightly lower price, ~550$.
