What’s New: Photographyblog have posted the camera’s full review!
Canon introduces the EOS 7D, a new DSLR camera with 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS Sensor, Dual “DIGIC 4” processors, ISO up to 12,800 and 8 fps continuous shooting - all housed in a lightweight magnesium alloy body, designed to defend against moisture, and dust .
With the Dual “DIGIC 4” processors you’ll never have to compromise between shooting speed, image quality and ISO performance. And the sensor will ensure outstanding image and fantastic performance at high and low conditions.
The EOS 7D features a 19-point cross-type AF sensor and this improved AF system offers a range of manual and automatic settings including Zone and Spot AF to track and capture subjects quickly and accurately. The EOS 7D also incorporates a new Focus Color Luminance metering system.
The camera offers you an Intelligent Viewfinder with 100% frame coverage. Besides, it features a new 3 inch Clear View II LCD screen with a viewing angle of 160 degrees. As with the EOS 5D Mark II, the screen can set brightness automatically depending on the environment.
The Canon EOS 7D is equipped with an Integrated Speedlite Transmitter, using which you can control external Speedlites with no additional accessories. And built-in flash is also available with manual control, and wider flash coverage to cover focal lengths as wide as 15mm.
It is compatible with all EF and EF-S lenses as well as Canon EX Speedlites, The Wireless File Transmitter (WFT-E5), remote controllers and switches such as the remote Controller RC-1/RC-5.
The EOS 7D Digital SLR camera will be available at the end of September. A kit version with Canon’s EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens will be sold at an estimated retail price of $1,899.00.
