Pentax Optio WS80 Waterproof Digital Camera
Pentax announced the launch of the Pentax Optio WS80, lightweight, waterproof and dustproof digital compact camera capabilities for casual, day-to-day applications.
The camera features 10.0 effective megapixels; an optical 5X optical zoom lens, a large 2.7 inch LCD monitor and HD movie capabilities.
The Pentax Optio WS80 also allows underwater photography to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to two hours continuously and also eliminates worries in situations where water or dirt can be a concern. Moreover, the front end of the zoom lens is protected by highly water-repellent SP (Super Protect) coating, so it can be cleaned with fresh water if it becomes covered with dirt or sand.
The Pentax Optio WS80’s advanced Face Recognition AF & AE function helps in casual shooting of people. This user-friendly function captures 32 faces in sharp focus and perfect exposure. It works together with the Smile Capture and the Blink Detection functions.
To avoid image blurring, the anti-shake function is used on the Pentax Optio WS80: the camera effectively compensates for camera shake by processing affected images, and raises its sensitivity to as high as ISO 6400.
The WS80 captures flawless movie clips at 16:9 high-definition TV proportions (1280 x 720 pixels) at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. It also comes equipped with the Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode, and the Underwater Movie mode, which automatically optimizes all camera settings for underwater movie shooting.
