Olympus have introduced a new shockproof, waterproof, and freezeproof digital camera to their TOUGH series, the Olympus Tough 6010. It is freezeproof to -10 C, waterproof to 3m and provides shockproof protection against drops of up to 1.5m.

The camera features 12 megapixels of resolution to make poster-size prints, 28 mm wide angle 3.6x optical zoom lens and a 2.7” HyperCrystal III LCD with its new “triple coating” that protects it against reflection, scratches, and moisture.

The 6010 is a point-and-shoot camera. Its i-Auto Mode automatically adjusts camera settings and works in combination with Shadow Adjustment Technology. What’s more, Dual Image Stabilisation keeps images blur-free.

The Advanced Face Detection Technology detects up to 16 faces for consistent quality across group portraits. And its Beauty Mode smoothes out imperfections and leaves subjects looking refreshed.

The 6010 also promises to add fun to the process of photographing with its Magic Filters. By applying Pin Hole, instance, images will seem to have been taken with a traditional pin hole camera. Pop Art, Fish-Eye, and Sketch add interesting effects of their own.

The camera’s Tap Control mode gives even gloved-hands easy access to a range of settings by simply tapping on the camera body. Quick View mode, Scroll Playback Pictures and a user-defined function (Flash or SAT) can be accessed by tapping at particular points of the camera.
