Canon PowerShot SD880 IS

Canon’s PowerShot SD880 IS is a 10-megapixel digital camera with 4x optical zoom which replaces the company’s previous PowerShot SD870 IS model. It’s also a little bit slimmer that its predecessor – not as slim as Sony and Casio ultracompacts - but will slip into a pocket or purse without a problem.
As with its predecessor, the Canon SD880 IS features optical image stabilization to help eliminate image blurring caused by camera shake. Also to freeze movement a new high sensitivity scene mode exists and it allows sensitivity to be boosted to a maximum of ISO 3,200; however it causes noise in your images.
The camera incorporates DIGIC 4 image processor that allows for servo AF tracking. Besides, its autofocus system now has improved face detection capability, a Face Detection self timer included.
The Canon PowerShot SD880 IS’s LCD display has a 3.0-inch design with 230,000 dots, and Canon also claims higher contrast.
In terms of shooting capabilities, the Canon SD880 offers only Auto and Program AE modes, with no options for aperture- or shutter-priority shooting, and no fully manual mode. However, you can from sixteen scene modes, and activate an Intelligent Contrast Correction function.
Camera Reviews:
Imaging-resource.com:
In sum, the Canon SD880 IS is a lot of fun and looks good, too. The LCD is surprisingly usable in direct sunlight. As to its image quality. the Canon SD880 delivers sharp images in low light thanks to Canon’s optical image stabilization. Larger sensor and Canon’s noise suppression technology make shooting at higher ISOs less disappointing than it has been in this pocket format.
