What’s new: There’s a full review of this camera at Photographyblog!
The Sony Alpha 330 has been styled for comfortable handling. This new DSLR camera features APS-sixed CCD Sensor, 10.2 megapixels of resolution, 2.7 inch tilt LCD Screen, Quick AF Live View and all creative options alongside with scene modes.
Control layout on the Sony Alpha A330 has been revised with fewer buttons, so even first-time DSLR users don’t need to feel intimidated by the creative options on offer. Help Guide explains your selection, complete with a sample image to demonstrate the results you’ll achieve.
For those who are new to photography the camera has a unique new graphical display that shows clearly how your chosen exposure settings will affect the final picture. Or simply you can choose from any of six Scene Selection modes that adjust settings to suit any subject.
Despite the friendly styling and compact size of the Sony Alpha 330, the new SLR camera doesn´t compromise on the picture quality, responsive shooting and advanced creative options prized by DSLR enthusiasts.
Sony A330 equipped with BIONZ processor which is the key to the new cameras’ speedy responses, allowing continuous shooting at up to 2.5 fps (2 fps in Live View mode).
For even better looking pictures, a newly-enhanced D-Range Optimiser intelligently adjusts exposure values in scenes containing very bright image areas and deep contrasting shadows.
Like every other Sony Alpha camera, this one features SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization for clearer pictures when you’re shooting handheld. Best of all, the Sony Alpha 330 works with the complete family of Alpha interchangeable lenses - so there’s no need to invest in bulky, image-stabilised optics.
Camera Reviews:
Steves-digicams.com:
Occupying the “mid-level” spot in Sony’s consumer dSLR offerings, the Alpha 330 is a very appealing camera. It produces pleasing photos in a variety of shooting environments, offers speedy performance, plenty of user-friendly exposure options, terrific high ISO results, and is comfortable to use/hold.
Cameralabs.com:
The camera shows the below average performance beyond 400 ISO, relatively slow continuous shooting and technical limitations of the Live View system; and it lacks video recording. But at lower sensitivities you’ll enjoy good quality from a DSLR which boasts built-in stabilization and fuss-free Live View, all at an affordable price.
Photographyblog.com:
The camera is a step back from its predecessor without offering any novelties or improvements worth mentioning.. It is frankly uncomfortable to hold and sometimes frustrating to use.
