GE (General Imaging) X3 Ultra Zoom

General Imaging, the worldwide exclusive licensee for GE-branded digital cameras, introduced their ultra zoom camera, the X3. This user-friendly digital camera, offers all the convenience of a point-and-shoot but features full manual controls as well.
The 12-megapixel camera houses 12x zoom lens, which is equipped with Optical Image Stabilization to compensate for even the slightest accidental hand movement and help you take clearer, sharper pictures.
It has features typical of modern cameras - blink, smile and face detection, auto-adjust brightness LCD, and in-camera red-eye removal. Auto Scene Detection function determines the appropriate scene type and optimizes exposure for sharp, vibrant pictures. Auto Adjust Brightness LCD automatically adjusts the camera’s LCD viewing screen to the existing lighting conditions.
Face detection function makes the X3 detect faces in a scene and then automatically focuse and optimize exposure for them. This technology helps when taking pictures of large groups, when a person is in the distance or when the subject moves into the frame. Smile detection function in its turn detects when subjects are smiling and releases the shutter automatically when the smiles reach their peak.
The camera’s peculiar feature is Pan-Capture Panorama. Unlike panorama stitching feature that allows the user to stitch together three photos into one extra-wide angle image Pan-Capture Panorama is even easier, letting the user pan the camera across the scene while the engine automatically captures, determines overlap, and stitches the frames into a single panoramic picture.
