Ricoh CX1 - Easy to Use Digital Camera with HDR Shooting

What’s new: Dcresource.com have added its full review and sample photos!
Ricoh announced a new addition to their lineup of compact point-and-shoots, the CX1. Featuring 9.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, 7.1x Optical Zoom, 28mm wide-angle lens, the CX1 hides in itself a couple of interesting features:
* High Dynamic Range shooting! Unusual addition to a point-and-shoot but still it is here. The HDR mode is designed to tackle difficult lighting situations by combining two images captured in high-speed succession to properly expose shots that contain both very bright and dark areas. As a result, both bright and dark aspects of the photo exposed accurately.
* The CX1 houses a new image processor called Smooth Imagine Engine IV. The camera thus boasts a high-speed continuous shooting mode of 120 fps at 640×480 resolution.
* With the multi-target AF function, the camera automatically decides seven focus points and does high-speed consecutive shooting of seven images while shifting the focus to each point. After shooting, you can select the image with the preferred focus.
* 3 inch large, high-resolution LCD monitor has a wide viewing angle and high contrast. The screen has a fluorine coat to prevent soiling, a hard coat to prevent scratches, and an anti-reflection coat to give greater visibility even outdoors in bright sunshine.
* Ease of Use: Image sensor shift blur reduction function will help to reduce hand-motion blurring. Face detection mode will automatically identify subject faces and optimizes face focus, exposure, and white balance. And Easy shooting mode will provide you with for photographic fun with simple operations.
Camera Reviews:
Dcresource.com:
While it has a few manual controls, the Ricoh CX1 is mostly a point-and-shoot experience. For those who don’t want to even think about changing camera settings, there’s an “easy” mode that is as basic as you can get. The CX1 is a capable camera with some really unique (and useful) features, but it’s hard to recommend given its mediocre image quality.
