Fujifilm unveils the FinePix S1500, successor to the FinePix S1000. The DSLR-like FinePix S1500 features 10-Mp resolution 12x optical zoom, Dual Image Stabilization and Automatic Scene Recognition. The new FinePix S1500fd will debut in March for $249.95.

This camera is Ideal for advanced amateur photographers who are looking for an affordable advanced digicam. It offers the following:

6. Continuous High Speed Shooting mode: up to 15 frames at 7.5 fps at 2MP and six frames at 3.3 fps at 5MP.
7. Panoramic Shooting mode to can capture, combine and save a maximum of three consecutive shots at 3MP resolution each as a panoramic picture
8. 14 Pre-programmed Scene Modes that offer a one-touch setting for almost any situation

The Fuji Finepix S1500 is a little bit of a throwback. Many other brands have introduced smaller compacts with a similar amount of zoom. This camera retains the more traditional body shape. There is a lot to like about this camera and I think it offers fair value for money.
