Sony CyberShot DSC T500
The Sony DSC T500 is a very stylish, point-and-shoot digital camera. It features 10 megapixels, a 5x optical zoom lens and image stabilization, the ability to adjust flash intensity and the ability to take High Definition movies. Settings are selected via a touch controlled 3.5 inch LCD screen.
The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 33 - 165mm in 35mm format. Zoom can be increased to a maximum 28x when shooting at lower resolution or 10x if using digital zoom.
There are face detection options available for taking portrait photographs. Image stabilization is another useful feature that Sony has built into the DSC T500.
As to the camera’s performance, colours are vivid and focusing is o.k. Noise appears before you get to ISO 400. Shutter delay times are also quite good, only close up shots are not really a strength of this camera. The Sony DSC T500 will really appeal to people who like great looking gadgets. The HD quality movies and touch sensitive screen are more likely to be the selling points than the picture quality. The picture quality is o.k., but it is mid range rather than anything special. This is a very stylish easy-to-use camera and you should have no problems slipping it into a pocket. It is available in black, silver and red.
