Casio Exilim EX-Z250

The Casio Exilim EX-Z250 is an ultra compact 9 megapixel digital camera. Its attractions include a small size, a larger than standard 3 inch LCD screen and a wide angle 4x optical zoom lens. This camera is aimed at someone who is looking for a simple point-and-shoot camera. It is small enough to fit into most pockets.
As with other Casio digital cameras the Exilim EX-Z250 has a large selection of predefined scene modes to choose from. The colours produced by the Exilim EX-Z250 and some other Casio digital cameras are warmer and not as vivid. However, colour is a matter of personal choice.
The camera performs gut at higher ISO levels, though it is not so good with darker areas. Shutter lag and recycling times are in line with most compact digital cameras, though turning the camera on and taking the first picture is a slow process.
Perhaps macro mode could be improved - I wish it were closer than 15 cm available. Another drawback concerns flash, as the amount of light produced by it is so overpowering that it leads to a very bright photo with some of the colour bleached out of the shot.
There is nothing especially complicated about the Exilim EX-Z250. Its highlight is the ease of use. Only some of the options normally controlled through buttons on the back of the camera have been included within the menu system. A large LCD screen is a plus point, which makes it easier to both compose and review photos.
