Canon Powershot A1000 IS

Lightweight and compact Canon Powershot A1000 IS is a step up from the most basic digital cameras. Featuring a versatile 4x zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD, Face Detection AF, 16 shooting modes, the A1000 IS offers a rich feature set for an entry-level Powershot cameras.
The A1000 IS camera also has Canon’s advanced Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S). Unlike electronic stabilization it compensates for camera movement or shake by actually allowing the lens to shift. That’s why this technology is effective even when the movement is caused by extended telephoto or low-light shooting conditions.
Canon is remarkable for its DIGIC III imaging processor, which is responsible for the cameras’ faster start up, faster autofocus and quicker shutter response times. When flash, however is turned on it is much slower. What’s more, DIGIC III extends the battery life under typical shooting conditions.
Canon Genuine Face Detection Technology allows detecting up to nine human faces in the frame or can lock onto a specific face in the crowd via the Face Select and Track function.
To say the truth, noise can be a problem. At ISO 400 in fair to good light noise is kept to acceptable limits. If ISO is higher or the level of lighting dips then picture quality is low.
