How you shouldn’t photograph
Too much trash on your photograph
Making portraits you may notice lots of surrounding objects which try to be a part of a frame. Photographing nature you get strange objects on the skyline… You need to put on the frame only the things you want to see on your picture, the ones that carry important meaning. For example, if you go for a portrait there are shouldn’t be furniture on the background.
A lot of pictures are taken without any goal
The majority of photos the beginners make is of different parties with friends. Of course, you had fun that time, photographed everything you saw, but now there’s no interest looking at them thirty pictures of shish kebab. What are they for?
No originality
The composition of the most photos is quite simple and monotonous. But you find people who are dear to you, moments which are significant and that’s why you should keep them anyway.
No details
There are almost no pictures emphasizing details. Most of pictures are topical, illustrating some occasions (parties, trips, walking tours, backpacking etc.). All of them are made directly – here we’re chopping a tree, then we’re setting up fire, then shish kebab, drinks … And no details were noticed. There is so much you may find (even on the picnic!) to take picture of.
I used to photograph less earlier
You need to practice more, photograph, experiment. Many frames don’t have that little something to become a great one and this little something can be reached by taking more photos; one of them may have come out the one you’re looking for.
Bad survey technique
Of course, there are photos, executed badly for their technical component – too much light, too much blur… Usually you try to delete such frames though you find something interesting.
Shadows on a face
Summer shots without photoflash are in another category. Everything is fine, bright and clear … but the shadows on the face spoil the picture. Use flash even in summer.
