Humming Bird: Featured Photograhy
Bev, or Nana17 as she calls herself here at shotaddict.com is a photographer behind our featured photography today. She deserves this title, as she won our recent photo contest Hummingbirds with her image Humming Bird.
Nana17 is a well known contributor to our site, who has supported us for the last half a year. She joined shotaddict.com in December 2006 and already has a rich photo collection of about 50 images in our photography gallery. 13 of these images were winners in our photo contests.
And believe this or not, but Bev achieved such good results having been in digital photography only for two years so far. Actually, it is a very interesting story how Bev started doing photography. As she said: ‘I have a very busy granddaughter. She is in a lot of school activities and sports. She is also in 4h and does horse shows. I attend a lot of her events and take pictures to create memories.’
Despite the fact, Nana17 specializes in landscapes and most enjoys taking photos of sunsets and sunrises, her photo collection also includes images of different animals and birds (the image above is a proof to this fact).
Bev produces her photos using two Kodak Easyshare digital cameras. Sometimes she takes advantage of photo filters and also make use of Picassa 2. She is not against basic editing and prefers to learn from her own mistakes in photography. Her advice to aspiring photographers is ‘Just learn from their mistakes. Practice, read tips and have fun.’
