Nude Female Body: photographic tips
We continue speaking about NUDE PHOTOGRAPHY in this post and things that can improve any erotic image.
1. How do you think which is the most contradictory element in nude photography? That is ARMS. It is always very difficult for the model and the photographer to choose a favourable position for arms. An inexperienced model often doesn’t know what to do with her arms and sometimes in her search for a good pose, she looks very odd.
For a good model arms on the contrary are the most expressive means. But still there are two basic mistakes that may appear when depicting arms.
- First of all if a woman leans on her arm, it will distort its form, as a usually straight line of an arm will look bent. In this case the photographer may advice his/her model should straighten the arm.
- Another annoying mistake is connected with distorted perspective. Model’s arms look very short, if they are directed towards the camera.
2. The position of the model’s hands in nude photography do not always get enough attention either. Hands may cause shades on the body. Moreover the skin tone of hands often differ to a certain extent from the skin tone of the whole body. Hands’ make-up can be a way-out.
3. As mentioned above arms and hands are important elements in portrait photography, but in nude photography the breasts remain the most significant component of an image. Breasts are considered a symbol of femininity.
What should any nude photographer know about female breasts? First of all remember that they consist of connective tissue mostly, that is fat and Cooper’s ligaments. It means that female breasts don’t have any muscles. That is why the form of breasts changes as the model changes her pose – when she raises her hands up or move them to different sides.
As their form depends only on the structure of the connective tissues and skin strain, so they look flatter if the model lies, and if the model bends forward, they will have a cone-shape form. Take these things into account and it will help you choose a favourable pose for your model.
