Sony Ericsson Z525a
The Sony Ericsson Z525a is a new midrange cell phone from Cingular’s handset lineup. Overall, it is the same phone as its predecessor the Z525, which had a success. The only update about the new phone is support for Cingular’s push-to-talk (PTT) network.
The Z525a has quite small dimensions (3.2 by 1.8 by 0.9 inches) and a blue removable faceplate, looped antennas, and rear-facing speaker. The outer screen of the phone is one-inch diagonally (101×180 pixels) with 4,096 color support, while the main display measures 1.8 inches (128×160 pixels) and supports 65,530 colors. Inside the phone, there is also a comfortable keypad with large and flat keys.
The phone has a standard feature set, which includes a 500-contact phone book, a vibrate mode, an alarm clock, a world clock, a calculator, a stopwatch, a timer, a notepad, PC syncing for your contacts, a tasks list, a calendar, text and multimedia messaging, a code memo for storing sensitive information, a speakerphone, a voice recorder, an infrared port, a wireless business-card exchange and POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail support. For calls and data transferring the phone offers Bluetooth and Infrared connectivity.
The integrated VGA camera sports Normal, Panorama, Frames, and Burst shooting modes, Black and White and Sepia picture effects; a night mode; a self-timer; a 4X zoom; and a brightness adjuster. The camera also records movies and use 12MB of shared space for storing data. Overall, the quality of photos is very poor. But there are PhotoDJ, VideoDJ and Music DJ applications available.
The Z525a has a fair price of $99 with service.
