Digital camera review: Olympus Mju 700
Howdy! In my previous post, I wrote about Olympus E-330. Today I will continue with Olympus digital cameras and move on the Mju series, which stands for stylish and weatherproof devices.
Olympus Mju 700, a 7.1 megapixel digital camera with a 2.5 inch LCD, became a worthy successor of its elder counterparts. It has a well-thought-out design. A well-organized lay-out makes the camera easy to use and the metallic finish makes it look very stylish. Besides, it feels secure to hold it, which is not typical of most small cameras.
The 2.5 inch screen is perfect for composing shots in low light conditions thanks to Olympus ‘BrightCapture Technology’. But there can be some difficulties when seeing shots at bright daylight, because of protective clear acrylic material, which makes the surface reflective and thus causes some inconvenience.
The Mju 700 is a good choice for novices. The automatic mode, 23 Scene Modes and the shooting guide - that all will help you easily better your images. Besides, the camera features the autofocus system which provides quick and simple photography, though sometimes it does not show the best results.
The Mju 700 is also provided with the in-camera noise reduction and the anti-blur mode, which can effectively improve the quality of the pictures. In addition, the camera has four different image quality levels, which are SHQ, HQ, SQ1 and SQ2. All the levels provide sharp and detailed shots with natural colors.
Super Macro mode allows as close focusing as 3.1 inch (8cm) from the subject and the sufficient auto white balance is good both indoors and outdoors.

On the whole, the durable battery, swift zooming and sizzling design makes Olympus Mju 700 a good choice, especially for novice photographers, who are looking for high-resolution images and easy use. Olympus released a firmware update for the Olympus mju 700.
The changes concern the languages – they added German, Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish to already exsisting English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
The other change made to camera operation when using the multi-print function with a PictBridge connection.
