Photographer Interview: Camdude

Camdude, the winner of the Favourite Subject contest answer a few our questions.
1. Who are you? Please give a brief background information.
I basically a hobbies with photography, didnt starting getting more serious with pics until I bought my new camera in fall of 06.

2. How long have you been doing photography?
Got my first camera 5 years ago, a 2.1 megapixel hp camera

3. How did you start doing photography? What got you interested in it?
When I went to my first nascar race, i wanted a camera

4. Do you earn living from photography or you do photography as your hobby/ your half time job?
I do photography as a hobby

5. What's your day job?
manufacturing

6. Do you have special education? Did you take courses or go to a school learn photography?
No, i just looked online, got some books from bookstore and just played with camera.

7. Are you specializing in a particular area of photography? What are your favorite places/objects to shoot?
I would have to say my favorite type of shots are action (sports) and sunsets

8. Who are your big photographic influences?
nobody really
9. How do you educate yourself? Do you read special literature, visit photography galleries? What photo books/magazines do you have on your bookshelf?
I look at photography books

10. What equipment and software do you use (camera(s), lenses, film, etc.)?
I have a Canon powershot S3 IS, I just play with the camera. I also have adobe photoshop and zoombrozer EX

11. What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures? With contests I believe in only doing the basics, a little color enhancement and rotating, thats it.12. What advice would you give someone who is interested in photography and wants to improve their photography skills? Buy a nice camera that has alot of different settings to use, play with it and do some reading

13. What's the most challenging aspect of photography for you? What's the best part of it? Still learning my camera. The best part, I can get my pics printed out big enough to hang on walls.
