Old Photos Correction
I believe all of you have old but very dear memorable photos in your family archive. Unfortunately, time passes by and these photos become damaged. If you want somehow restore them and save in digital form, then this article will help you. :)
Let’s work with this old scanned photo:
As you can see, some of its parts cannot be restored. White spots can be drawn via Photoshop, but let’s focus on the other things. The first thing to help us is automatic tone correction (Image -> Adjustments -> Auto Levels). Do not forget to work in RGB mode, even if the image is in one (white and black) channel.

Now we need to increase contrast (Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/ Contrast). We see that the image hasn’t become perfect, but the original leaves much to be desired. :)
For better effect you can give your image old brown hue. This can be achieved in two ways: you can work with Hue/ Saturation in Image menu; or, you can take Image -> Adjustments -> Color Balance.

Here I stop. But you can go on restoring your image drawing it manually with pixels. For that purpose just zoom your photo and choose Pencil tool. :)
