    Interview with Photographer: Heatherlynne

    1. Who are you? Please give a brief background information.

I am HeatheŽLynne. I am of Portuguese Decent along with Lithuanian & Polish ties. I grew up on the Central Coast of Cali. A place that WAS paradise until La and Frisco moved there. I was raised in the country and would give anything to go back!

    2. How long have you been doing photography?

I have been taking pics as a personal hobby for years now. I just in the last year or so switched from 35mm to Digi. I would much rather use my 35mm. Digi is highly over rated to me and is the lazy photographers best friend! I would luv to have my own dark room and develope all my own pics!

    3. How did you start doing photography? What got you interested in it?

Not sure how or why i started takin pics.. Just saw a lot of beauty in the things that surround me and i wanted to capture it!

    4. Do you earn living from photography or you do photography as your hobby/ your half time job?

Photography is only a hobby for me right now.... I hope to one day make some money off of it. But we all know how hard that is...lol

    l_a9e37b4957df8c90678830e32dde5d86_382.jpg5. What's your day job?

    I am an apartment manager..yeah!

    6. Do you have special education? Did you take courses or go to a school to learn photography?

I have yet to take any photography classes... Havent really read any books either... Should prolly get on that....lol

    7. Are you specializing in a particular area of photography? What is your favourite type of photography?

My favorite type of photography is B&W... I LUV B&W's..... They are the ones that grab my eye... I enjoy taking pics of landscapes and people!

    8. Who are your big photographic influences?

    Oh gosh!!!! No clue here!

    9. How do you educate yourself? Do you read special literature, visit photography galleries? What photo books/magazines do you have on your bookshelf?

Like i said before havent really read anything... But that will change soon!

    10. What are your favorite places/objects to shoot?

I luv the beach and the lake.. So those are on my top... I also Luv sunsets and have hundreds and hundreds of sunset shots over the central coast of cali!

    11. What equipment and software do you use? (camera(s), lenses, film, etc.)

I have a Canon, Nikon, Minolta and a Kodak .... The Nikon is my fav!!... I don't really use editing programs... But have used photoshop as well as adobe

    12. What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures?

To me, as soon as a picture has been edited, it is no longer a picture. It is an Image that you couldnt capture with your camera!

    13. What advice would you give someone who is interested in photography and wants to improve their photography skills?

Keep on shooting!!!!... Also, Just because one person dosent like something that youve done or something that you really like, dosent mean that your work isnt good.. It only means that you and that person have a different view on what is beautiful!.. Never take someones criticisum to heart! Learn from it and become a better person due to it!

    14. What's the most challenging aspect of photography for you? What's the best part of it?

Most challangeing...uhm lets see.....I guess just having my camera on me... I usually look at everything as if it was a picture. So when i dodnt have my camera i miss out on a lot..lol... The best part of photography for me, is that i have recently gotten my mom HOOKED on it... That is so great to me.. I luv that she is retired now and doing what i have loved to do for years. Shes taken many drives with me to take pics.... Now she is takin her own!!
