All you have to do is to rotate zoom your camera's objective. The effect is almost unpredictable and mind-blowing!

All you have to do is to turn you zoom lens at the moment of optical exposure. Sounds rather simple, but soon you’ll encounter a little difficulty. Most cameras use usual exposures of 1/60 sec or 1/125 sec are too short for that. The exposure will happen before you start turning your lens.
The solution is to use a longer exposure. Start with 1 second, and then, when get to learn the technique switch to ½ seconds or even ¼. If you manage to get nice shots at 1/8 sec or 1/16 consider yourself an expert.
Do you have to use the tripod while making a shot? Well, it depends on your habits. The photos appear so blurry that it doesn’t really matter. So it’s up to you to decide.
What direction do I turn my lens? The answer is simple once again – any direction. Both methods work good, the results vary a little bit, so feel free to experiment with both methods.
Don’t forget to start turning the lens just after the exposure has begun.
How fast do you have to rotate the objective? Well, as fast as you can! If you’ve set the exposure to 1\4 seconds, which means that you have less than 1\4 seconds to change focus distance.
