Customers Reviews 2010-02-01 Great camera for the price My daughter researched the camera and found it was the best one on the market for the price. | 2010-02-01 Nice little camera This camera is capable of producing great pictures. Forget digital telephoto (this goes for every pocket P&S camera I have used). I also have the Canon A590IS, A570IS, and Nikon L20. The Canons' pictures are usually a little soft and require sharpening. The L20 takes some coaxing, but can also do a great job. Best approach is to use L20's BSS mode and take at least 6 clicks. Sometimes takes a few attempts to get it to focus. The HD video from the 1093 is a small wonder. Clear and bright. Too bad it does not include optical IS for videos. Zoom works for videos, but there is a moment of blur when it refocuses. Low light pictures seem to be difficult with all of these cameras, although the Canons have a slight edge.
The 1093's flash is puny compared to the Canons, but picture seems a little sharper to me than the other 3 cameras if there is sufficient light. I don't like the position of the MODE button since I usually also hit the shutter button at the same time. As with all of these cameras READ THE MANUAL and experiment with the settings. Smart Capture mode works well most of the time, but not always. With all, I usually pull the SDHC card to transfer pictures. I dont want all of the analysis that the proprietary transfer programs do. You have to the play with the White Balance settings indoors to get it right (same for the other cameras). Too bad it does not have a custom White Balance mode. For the $125 I paid, including a dock, I am very happy with this camera. | 2010-02-01 great for budget conscious. little camera w/ big features. All I can say is that this camera, rocks. I happen to own Nikon DSLRs for my shooting gig. And I was in search for a small digicam for all-purpose and easy to use for my wife. I was so fortunate to get this camera.
The picture quality was great, Although sometimes you may need to change to manual settings in order to get good pictures and not to rely moslty all the time on Smart mode. The HD video does a decent job in recording clips. my only concern is that its Image Stabilization is not that good.Lastly I only give this a 4 stars since there is no battery life indicator. It would have been handy if the LCD would dislay the actual battery reading However, It does give you a low-battery warning just enough to give you a couple of shots before powering off. If that happens then youre lens doesnt retract back to its housing. I would recommend this to anybody who is looking for a low-budget camera w/c doesnt sacrifice picture quality and good HD clips. | 2010-01-30 A Killer deal on a Quality Point and Shoot I purchased this camera on black Friday 09. I researched for a week before I bought it. I still think the price I paid, 99.97 for the camera AND the dock is a great deal here on Amazon.com. It's the 3rd point and shoot I've owned since 03 and clearly the best so far. The pics are gorgeous just like the reviews said they would be. I love the 3" screen which is bigger than most. I haven't used the video mode all that much but It's one of the reasons I bought the camera because it shoots in HD (720p).
The size is smaller than most. I promised myself the next camera I purchased would fit in my shirt pocket so I could carry it around at the ready for taking pics. It's not quite that small but very close. I've taken almost 600 pics so far. Most with flash. The battery life is excellent. In excess of 300 pics on a single charge with flash.
Three minor annoyances. The dock doesn't have HDMI out which makes hooking up to a HDTV a little more tricky but still doable. The placement of the power button in the center top could be better. I find myself turning the camera on while trying to access the battery or the SD card if I'm not careful. Finally the cycle time is relatively slow for a modern camera also as the reviews have pointed out so it would not be good for multiple action shots. On balance, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Recommended. | 2010-01-30 M1093 Kodak 10 MP Camera This camera takes really great photos even in a fairly dark room without using the flash. High ISO speed and face recognition focusing makes it hard to take bad pictures. Easy to carry in your pocket as its slim and small, so its ready to taken whenever you want without having to take a camera bag with you. Quality photos make excellent enlargements. | |

Kodak Cameras HistoryThe history of Kodak dates back to the 19th century, the very beginning of the photographic era.
In late 1870th George Eastman, a junior clerk in the Savings Bank in Rochester, USA, was going to set up for a journey and take some images during it but faced great difficulties of carrying all the necessary things – the camera & chemicals – with him. From that moment he got obsessed with the idea of making photography accessible to masses.

The following years he was trying to invent what we all know as a photographic film. In comparison with plates rolls were easy to deal with and suitable for mass production and hence for nonexpert photography. In 1888 the world’s first film camera was unveiled - already under the Kodak brand. The name Kodak was also Eastman’s invention, whose favourite letter in the alphabet was “K.”
The slogan of Eastman Kodak Company was “You press the button, we do the rest.” So the next important innovation of them was photo printing service – users could simply send completed rolls of firm to the company, and receive ready-make images. This principle of having your photos printed at minilabs has been working up to now.
