Customers Reviews 2010-03-18 Bad video quality, low battery life Cheap, but still not worth the price. I bought this for my kids, and did not have very high expectations of the video quality. Even so, I was disappointed. Only in bright daylight does this produce somewhat decent video. Indoors, especially under artificial lighting, the picture is very noisy. When I hooked it up to the TV to play back recorded video, the quality was unwatchable.
Battery life is pathetic as well. I think my first set of batteries lasted around 20 min. This kind of camera should really come with a built-in rechargeable battery.
About the only positive thing is the ability to use an SD card for video storage. But I could not record any amount of video worth storing anyway.
I finally bought a Creative Vado HD 720P camcorder, which cost more but is way better.
| 2010-03-14 Polaroid DVF 130 USB Digital Camcorder (Pocket) It's about the size of a Blackberry, also takes nice still pictures, has an awesome zoom, and a "switchblade" pop-out USB adapter that plugs right into the the PC without separating from the camcorder. It has a "landscape" as well as a "portrait" setting and various format settings including VGA.
Didn't come with a strap (put one on myself) or a pouch to put it in (found one lying around that fits perfectly) but fits comfortably in my jeans front pocket.
You will definitely need more memory since the 500 +/- MB it comes with only gives you about 40 seconds of video. I bought a 16 GB memory card and have recorded videos for hours without having to download the memory.
For the price I paid ($46.00 + Shipping), it's a great value. | 2010-02-22 Polaroid I purchased this for my 8 yo son. The sound, video and picture quality is very poor. You can not see the video due to lighting and the sound is too quiet to hear. Would not recommend. | 2010-02-16 Polaroid Excellent camera for the price. I searched and checked out a number of camera for a 9 year old boy. This one met my requirements and was well accepted by my grandson. | 2010-02-16 do not waste your money or time with this product. The picture and video quality is the worst I have ever seen. Complete waste of money to buy and waste of time to use. | |

Polaroid Cameras HistoryPolaroid Corporation is most famous for its instant film cameras. It was founded in 1937 by Edwin H. Land.

The company's original dominant market was in polarized sunglasses.
Instant photography was introduced with the Polaroid Model 95 camera and Type 40 film at the presentation to The Optical Society in New York City on February 21st, 1947. Polaroid Instant Cameras reached the retail stores in 1948. They were a success as well as later models; and by the early 60th Polaroid expanded to Canada and Europe offering to public not only cameras, but film rolls (both black & white and color (since 1963)).
In 1972 Polaroid made a revolution in photography launching a “magic camera.” The SX-70 appeared to be a true SLR that folds flat and produces photographs instantly. Autofocus technology comes a little bit later with the SX-70 Sonar OneStep and the Pronto! Sonar OneStep cameras.
In 1986 Polaroid defeated Kodak in a patent battle and forced Kodak to leav... More About Polaroid Cameras |
