Customers Reviews 2009-11-19 Great Camera Recently purchased the camera from Amazon.com. Great little camera! The picture quality is excellent and the HD video is amazing for such a little point and shoot. The camera does have some advanced features but it is best to just put it on auto everything and let it take great photos and videos. If you are looking for a point and shoot that will compete with the SLRs to the untrained eye, here you go.
Buttons are a bit small but you have to expect that from such a compact camera. Dollar for dollar best camera I have ever used! | 2009-11-10 Stay away if you take lot's of indoor picture I'just bought this camera last weekend.and I'decide it return asap after 2 day of testing and radom picture taken..I'was once amazed with the spec of this camera when it just release to the market. but after I'test in person now I'can say it totally useless.. okay, the picture take with 8x zoom len seens to be darker then actual envirment when u'zoom it to 8X, and video optical zooming aint that useful as it sound. it takes long time for camera focus onto the object when you're zooming... the battery life of it perform above average but what really makes me want to return it after 2 day is the unbearable noise level when you take picture in high ISO. I"ve own and used many different kind of Campact DC in last 6 year(PENTX OPTIOS,CANON SD400,CANON SD1000) but none of the pervious model taken worst pic then ZR1. the camera it self always burst to ISO 400 or even 800 when you try to take indoor pic,and what you'get in the end is picture after picture of noise!so better stay away from this ZR1 if you constantly took in door photo. | 2009-11-05 ZR1 Great Camera Easy to Carry The features for the size and portability are exceptional. Easy to carry in my purse, pocket, or rzr. Left the camera on automatic to begin with, just now playing with the built in scenes. Used it for the last snow to show the blue glow coming through the snow banks. So far no cons. | 2009-10-29 Panasonic Lumix Camera I purchased this camera to use as a backup to my Nikon Digital SLR, and to use when a compact camera is more appropriate or easier to carry that an SLR. Unlike many point and shoot cameras that use cheap plastic lenses, the Panasonic Lumix uses a professional grade Leica multi-element lens. This provides very sharp images that can be cropped and enlarged. The image quality is nearly as good as those taken with the Nikon SLR. | 2009-10-16 greate little camera This is a wonderful little camera. It fits in the pocket or purse, fully automatic, and is reasonably fast to switch on/off and focus. It's got powerful zoom, adequate flash, and produces good-quality pictures with a single button click.
It's got a macro mode, which allows to take sharp pictures at 1-1.5 feet distance. The zoom settings allow to focus on the center of the screen, or on the faces. I have had some success in reducing digital noise by reducing the quality of the picture from 12Mp to 8Mp.
It is also smart enough to turn itself off to save battery life when not used. | |

Panasonic Cameras HistoryPanasonic Corporation (formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.) is a multinational corporation based in Kadoma, Japan.
Panasonic was founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita. The company was first selling duplex lamp sockets.
In 1931 began the production of radios. But earlier, in 1927, it produced a bicycle lamp, and it was their first product marketed under the brand name National – meaning for people, for nation. The production of road and touring bicycles and their components composed a substantial portion of the goods manufactured by National/Panasonic Corporation from 1945 through the end of the 1980s.
In 1955, the company labeled its export audio speakers "PanaSonic", which was the first time it used its "Panasonic" brand name. This name was created from the elements "pan" meaning "all" combined with "sonic" meaning "sound”.
After Konosuke Matsushita traveled to the United States in 1961, Panasonic began producing television sets for the U.S. market under the Panasonic brand name, and expanded the use of the brand to Europe in 1979. The company began opening its plants around the world. It quickly developed a reputation for its reliable products - televisions, radios, and home appliances.
In the 1980-s, Panasonic continued to produce <... More About Panasonic Cameras |
