Good camera, good value
It's comparable to other cameras at similar price. Decent not too big size, good lens, plenty of auto settings for the average birthday pictures. I picked it because I wanted the smallest camera I could find but that still took AA batteries. This is about it. Size, battery, features and value are all about right. The only thing it was missing for me is you can not take pictures at lower resolution. You always have to take 10 megapixel pictures. I was thinking I would most often like to take smaller sized pictures and only take 10mp pictures when I was doing something special. But you can't change that setting. So if you want to take pictures and email them to people the photos are going to be large files unless you manually resize them. Otherwise, decent value.

Simple, Small and Cheap CANON
This product satisfied me a lot.
I bought it for a friend and this will be his first digital camera so, I insisted on being SIMPLE.
Secondly, the name CANON is really trusted so, I didn't believe that it is for that price.
When I tried it, I was really pleased.
It feels good in your palm because it is compact enough.
It is fast enough and the picture quality is really nice.
For the video quality, it is really good too and you can zoom during the video. I really appreciate this feature.
TO SUM UP IF YOU WANT A GOOD PICTURE AND VIDEO QUALITY WITH SMALL SIZE AND PRICE GO FOR THIS PRODUCT.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WANT A MORE DEVELOPED CANON CAMERA GO FOR THE SD1200 AND DO NOT BUY THE A1100 BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME LIKE THE A480. I COMPARED IT MYSELF.

Software does not work on Vista
Camera easy to use. Picture quality ok. My problem is the software loaded on Vista does not see the camera. Went onto Canon website and downloaded the latest software and still cannot see the camera. Have to remove SD card and manually load onto my PC.

I love my little camera
I just got my camera and so far I love it. The only thing I would have to say is that the recycle time is a little slow, so it wouldn't be good if you had to take a lot of rapid shots. But I dont so its perfect for what I need.

Fatal Error strikes again
I was OK with this camera and just getting used to it. It does take a long time to recharge the batteries, even with recommended batteries, but its now got a "Lens Error" every time I try to use it. SO far Canon refuses to take it back even though it's within the year warranty. I think it's defective. They think I broke it. I was only able to use it for 5 months and I've been very careful with it. I'm going back to my Kodaks.
