Customers Reviews 2009-11-06 LCD Crack Similiar to the other review about LCD problem. Had camera 3 months, removed from jacket pocket to take picture, and the screen was cracked. Sent back for repair(thought it should be under warranty!!!); instead received a bill($61.36) for repairs. The service center remarked "impact damage, LCD cracked" and is not covered under warranty. This camera was not dropped, mishandled, abused, or impacted! I refused service, and have since purchased another camera. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | 2009-10-30 No durability or company backing The LCD screen lacks durability and Fujifilm doesn't back their product. I owned the camera for 3 weeks and a crack developed on the LCD screen causing it to black out. I sent it back to Fujifilm and they sent me a bill for $63.00 stating that a cracked LCD wasn't covered under warranty. I expressed my concern to their national mananger for camera repair and he would not standby his product and reduce the price or offer another to replace a defective LCD screen. I could understand if it would have been negligence on my part, but the camera practically sat on my countertop. | 2009-10-10 camera It is just like one in the store. I have not had it long enough to say anything about the battery. | 2009-09-12 Great camera I bought this for my 12 year old daughter and she loves it! It takes really crisp pictures, is easy to use and small enough to carry in her purse. | 2009-08-29 It lasted a month.... Wow, what can you say about a camera that had to be sent in for repairs 1 month after purchase when the lcd screen went kaplooey, and not because of mis-use either. It had only taken about 115 pictures, but they do look good, none of the blurry that I had seen in other reviews. The size and weight were nice and the battery seemed to hold up well for the few pictures we did take. It will be interesting to see how it holds up when we get it back from repair. | |

Fujifilm Cameras HistoryIn the early 1930th Mokichi Morita, president of Dainippon Celluloid Company, a Japanese company that was founded in 1919, made up his mind to launch a production of a motion picture film. At that time movies already became popular in Japan, but there was no national manufacturer of them in the country. So Dainippon Celluloid Company was given a grant from the government and in 1934 founded an independent company Fuji PhotoFilm Co. Its headquarters was situated in Minami Ashigara Village, close to Mount Fuji, which gave the company its name.
By 1936 with the help of a German specialist the company produced quite good black & white film. Colour film appeared 12 year later, after the war. The company dealt not only with 35mm photo film and 16mm motion-picture film, but also with roentgen film for medical purposes.
In the 60th the Fujifilm Corporation was among the most active exporters. In the 80th the specialists of the company were aimed at opening enterprises throughout the world to realize their unique technologies taking into account local peculiarities.
