Customers Reviews 2009-11-01 Small But Effective Camera Enjoy taking pictures with small camera. Self timer very effective. Great having Image Stabilization. I would recommend this camera. | 2009-10-22 I love my little Epson Stylus 9000 camera. This is a wonderful camera. After I purchased it at Amazon.com, I checked it out at Best Buy. It was almost $100 more expensive.
My last portable camera was a Kodak, which also had a 10" optical zoom. I loved that feature and wanted it again. Unfortunately, I dropped that camera and it stopped working.
This camera is even better than that one. The zoom feature is awesome as it actually zooms out instead of just having a little button as a zoom feature.
Also, it is easy to use and the picture clarity is excellent. So far, I have been 100% satisfied with all of my purchases from Amazon.com; it's truly a trustworthy on-line company. | 2009-10-19 miko_bosnia First of all nice looking good features, when I opened it amazing, then I see the features, really good. But after I played with camera couple days I wasn't satisfied at all.
The worst thing is focus, that shocked me when I moved pictures on my laptop to see them. They look blurry , they are not sharp at all, some of pictures are... but I wasn't satisfied at all, when I see some smaller cameras from my friends like Cannon or Nikon, about 3x optic, when I compare them whit this 9000 Olympus, not good at all. I'm not a beginner with cameras, so I know exact how to take a focused picture, no matter what I tried, they are not so good as I thought it gonna be.
I see some people are complaining about grainy pictures, I dont see that problem.
Another bad thing about this camera it doesn't have optic zoom in Video mode, only digital, so it sucks.
From me about camera and stars:
5 star for design, applications, features, easy to use
3 star only I'm giving is for bad Focus ( not as I thought it's gonna be). | 2009-10-09 Fast camera with good picture quality The picture quality is very good. But the best thing about this camera is the quick response. Cold start to first picture is about 2 seconds, which is pretty good. The "quick sequence" feature is great to have when there's a lot of action going on, but there's no flash so make sure there is lots of ambient light. | 2009-09-14 Great camera, but I may have to read the manual This is a great camera, but I can't give it the glowing review I wanted to, because the images seem to be "washed out". Looks like I may need to read the manual and check the settings. | |

Through its history Olympus Company has manufactured various types of cameras: medium-format cameras, fully automatic zoom cameras, 35mm cameras, EE-equipped cameras, autofocus cameras - in different series.
The history of Olympus cameras began in 1936, when they introduced their first camera, the Semi-Olympus I. It was very expensive camera for that time.
In 1959 the first truly innovative camera series was launched - compact and portable (for their time) PEN models. They were half-frame format, allowing 72 pictures of 18 × 24 mm format on a stand... More About Olympus Cameras |
