GREAT CAMERA - GREAT PRICE
I'm still learning the ins and outs of this camera. But the photos I have taken are just beautiful. Great color and very easy to use! I recommend this camera for those who like to set their own settings or for those who don't and still want great shots. This camera allows both!

Worst Camera I Have Ever Owned!
First of all, let me say that this is at least my 6th digital camera, so I have been using them since the early days... My last camera was a Kodak 1285 which I returned immediately due mainly to slow/poor focusing. I decided to give this one a chance, because I read a lot of reviews saying how all the problems they had with the 1285 were fixed on this camera. Not true! Unfortunately, I can't return it, as I bought it from an Amazon 3rd party.

Where to begin,

1. First of all the battery life is HORRIBLE! A pair of AA batteries lasts, without exaggeration, about 12 pictures (without a flash)! Or even less with a flash. Every time I use it I have to bring 10 AAs with me. I have tried everything from the cheapest to the most expensive batteries, without much difference in # of photos. The supplied Lithium-Ion battery lasted about 20 pictures! At this point, I don't want to invest more money in this camera by buying a charger/rechargeables.

2. Any motion pictures under anything but perfect lighting are blurred, no matter whether it is in auto or scene modes.

3. Very slow save time and very slow response time (shutter lag) I have missed so many shots it's ridiculous.

4. Shuts off for no reason at all, even with new batteries. This is not a auto-shut-off feature, as it will shut off with the lens still extended.

5. Good pictures when it actually works

I will never buy another Kodak camera.

I would get a different camera
Hello everyone,
I felt I needed a write a review on this camera. I have always went with Canon cameras, most recently the powershot A470 which has been a great litle camera, but I was impressed with the high mp's on this Kodak. Well, I should have stuck with Canon. I have had it for a couple months and I am not impressed. I am going back to my other camera. The problems I have had... and yes, I have used all the different settings are:
1. Blurry pictures
2. lighting/exposure issues in many pictures
These two alone are big ones considering the pics are ruined.
As I said, I am going to stop using this camera and go back to my Canon.
I hope this helps you in your decision making.
Have a nice day!!

Kodak EasyShare Z14585 (14 megapixel)
We purchased the Kodak EasyShare Z14585 IS. It is one of the worst camera's we have ever owned. It is okay to take 'still' pictures but the least movement and there is a blur. And yes we used different settings. We were hoping that the 14 megapixel would let us blow up the image larger then our 8.1 megapixel but there is little to no difference in the images.
We take A LOT Of pics during our chilren's sporting events. Can't use a camera that wont permit any action so we went back to using our old Kodak EasyShare ZD8612 IS for that. That Kodak is great with movement.
Would I recommend the Z14585??? Yes if you are taking picture of plants, or trees but not for normal family pictures.

Kodak Cameras History

The history of Kodak dates back to the 19th century, the very beginning of the photographic era.

In late 1870th George Eastman, a junior clerk in the Savings Bank in Rochester, USA, was going to set up for a journey and take some images during it but faced great difficulties of carrying all the necessary things – the camera & chemicals – with him. From that moment he got obsessed with the idea of making photography accessible to masses.

kodak 3A

The following years he was trying to invent what we all know as a photographic film. In comparison with plates rolls were easy to deal with and suitable for mass production and hence for nonexpert photography. In 1888 the world’s first film camera was unveiled - already under the Kodak brand. The name Kodak was also Eastman’s invention, whose favourite letter in the alphabet was “K.”

The slogan of Eastman Kodak Company was “You press the button, we do the rest.” So the next important innovation of them was photo printing service – users could simply send completed rolls of firm to the company, and receive ready-make images. This principle of having your photos printed at minilabs has been working up to now.
