digital camera battery
Wow!! What a great price for this battery! The Olympus branded batteries are 5-6 times the price. You just can't lose on this deal. I haven't used it enough to know how the over-all life will compare, but even if you have to but another it is worth it.

Best value for compatables
I purchased this and two other LI-50B compatibles and found this to be the best value of the three based on price and battery lifetime. On a side by side comparison, this battery had about 75% of the life of an Olympus brand 925mAh battery, but given the price, it was by far the best price/performance value.

Seems to work just as good as the original
I purchased this battery to use as a backup for my Olympus Stylus tough 6000. As it is i never actually had problem with the standard Olympus battery that came with the camera, but i felt that it could not hurt to purchase a back up battery, especially when you consider the cost!
The product cam in a timely manner as with all amazon purchases and was packaged pretty neat.
I used the camera over the weekend for a Halloween party and i had this battery in use, and boy did it work well! I took about 60+ photos (all @ 10mp with the flash on) that night and (as with all pics) they were each reviewed a couple times after the photo was taken. I even used it a bit the next day and the battery still has charge. I'm going to use it some more today and see if i can drain the charge a bit to get an idea as to how many pics i can take on a full charge.

If there is any complaint at all, it's that when you first put the battery to charge it stops charging after about 2-3 minutes, this could mislead some into thinking it is fully charged at this point, when in reality it isn't. When this happens all you need to do is remove the battery and charger from the outlet and plug it back in and leave it for a few hours till you KNOW it should be fully charged. It should be noted that some people get this same problem with the official Olympus battery, so it's not a problem specific to this product.

Great item here folks; buy it if our camera uses it, at such a low price (i paid about $7. USD for it) you cannot go wrong.

Complex and not very friendly, at first
Very complex and hard to understand (Steep learning curve). The book is even more confusing and hard to read. It is heavier than I thought and needs a view finder. Having said that.... It has a lot going on inside and the pictures do turn out well when you figure out how to use the settings (which are almost to many). If you have the patients to stick with it, You probably will be very happy but at first there are times you want to take a hammer to it (after you delete all your pictures by mistake and I can't blame the camera for that but I do blame the complexity of the unit). At the end of the day and you've beaten the learning curve (STEEP) you will be happy with your purchase. It is not for the casual photographer who wants something easy to use. It is to complicated and make sure you put a protective clear shield over the screen to protect it.

Battery life not as long as an Olympus battery
These batteries are much less expensive than an Olympus brand battery, which is what attracted me to them. I ordered 4 so that I would have ample back up power for a long trip if my wall charger was unavailable. I have used all of them at least twice. They definitely don't last as long as the Olympus battery...I would approximate that they have about 60% of the power. However, it does say on the packaging that it takes about 4 full cycles of charging and running down the battery before it reaches its maximum potential. I am hoping that this is the case. If not, it is still a good value considering the price.

Olympus Cameras History

Olympus Corporation (early known as Takachiho Seisakusho) was founded by Takeshi Yamashitaon on October 12, 1919, and initially specialized in microscope and thermometer businesses. The company is named after Mount Olympus, the home of the gods in Greek mythology.

Olympus continued the tradition of manufacturing high-quality optics through the development of camera lenses, starting in 1934. Two years later the Zuiko lens was born.

semi-olympusThrough its history Olympus Company has manufactured various types of cameras: medium-format cameras, fully automatic zoom cameras, 35mm cameras, EE-equipped cameras, autofocus cameras - in different series.
