The W5000 is razor sharp
The BenQ W5000 home theater projector has 1080p resolution, single-chip DLP projector, delivers an extremely sharp, high contrast image. it comes through with a dazzling picture that justifies the price.
Key Advantages
Excellent contrast and black level. Don't let the 10,000:1 contrast rating fool you. That is a relatively low number in today's competitive market where contrast specifications range from 15,000:1 up to 50,000:1. But in any given scene, the real contrast you experience on the W5000 is in many instances higher than that of competing models with much higher contrast ratings.
Extremely sharp image. The W5000 is razor sharp . This is particularly apparent in close-up facial images, where every imperfection in the skin is resolved in extraordinary detail. The projector's sharpness may be attributed in part to exceptionally high optical precision in the lens.

Excellent projector - very few faults
I've lived with this projector now for about a month... it is a remarkable projector. Images are crisp, detailed, sharp, and brilliant. There is a lot of setup and calibration flexibility. I use the projector in Whisper mode and it's very quiet, sounds like a small fan slowly running in the background... not real noticeable once you start a movie.
The only negatives I've found:
- 12v trigger cable - it's not a standard miniplug. I'm still working on finding the right cable for it.
- horizontal lens shift - not an option so it's important you can place the projector in the center of your screen.
