Customers Reviews 2009-11-21 Interesting and fun lens Although there is some slight blurriness on the outside edges of the picture, overall, the picture is a clear, interesting wide angle picture. As with all Opteka products, the lens appears to be quality construction at a very reasonable price. | 2009-11-20 A Real Disappointment Since I had bought, and liked, a macro lens of the same brand, I felt confident that the wide-angle lens would perform well. I was disappointed. No matter how much ambient light is available, most photos are blurry. I thought, at first, that I just needed practice, or to try the lens in different lighting situations. But, nothing seems to help. I would not recommend this product to anyone. | 2009-11-20 Won't Focus I was excited to try this on my D300, just to play around. It fits on a few of my lenses just fine, but I can't get the joker to focus for the life of me...auto or manual. Just doesn't work. If anyone has suggestions, let me know...maybe I'm just not thinking to do something... I don't know, but I've had several friends try & they were unable to get it to focus either. :( Bummer. | 2009-11-15 Not sure yet I just got this yesterday. I have a D40x. The macro works great, no problems with auto focus. I cannot get the fisheye lens to work at all...auto or manual focus. Either way, the shot is blurry and unacceptable. Others say it works, so I might be doing something wrong. I tried with and without the macro and also took out the middle lens as suugested here. No luck.
No problems with fitting the lenses on the camera. | 2009-11-12 Good product, especially for the price I bought this to go with my Nikon D40X. I wanted to play with a fisheye lens on an upcoming vacation but do not have the money for an expensive lens. I have only played with it a bit, but it works fine, there are some issues with the edges (hence 4 not 5 stars), but in my opinion nothing that can not be overcome. I look forward to using this on my vacation.

Nikon Cameras HistoryNikon Corporation is one of the major companies of the Mitsubishi Group, a multinational corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and specializing in optics and imaging.
Nippon Kogaku K.K., or Japanese Optical Society (afterwards became known as Nikon Corporation) was formed at July 25, 1917 as a result of merging of three firms: Tokyo Keiki Seisaku-sho's optical division, Iwaki Glass Seisaku-sho и Fujii Lens Seizo-sho. The new company was aimed at manufacturing high-quality optics for Imperial Japanese Navy. And up to 1945 it actually was their main goal that determined the company’s philosophy and traditions. The first president of Nippon Kogaku was Yoshihira Wada.
Apart from military equipment the company produced microscopes, telescopes and other measuring instruments for industry and science. From 1932 they started serial production of Nikkor lenses for photo cameras. It’s an interesting fact that all Canon cameras, launched between 1937 and 1947 were equipped with lenses produced by Nikon!
After the WW II Nippon Kogaku K.K. manufactured its own camera –a rangefinder Nikon 1 – and stopped manufacturing lenses for Canon. The new camera appeared already Nikon-branded.
