Great Acquisition
Excellent acquisition. The value and the resolution was so great. The pictures are really clear and colorfull but the zoom is +AA. Much better than the Cyber Shot and the other ones.

Searched for a long time & settled with this one
I researched for a couple months on finding a new camera for myself. I stuck with this one due to the zoom capacity, the many functions and the reviews were fairly better than the other ones I looked at. I am not, by far, an expert photographer but I know what I like and how I want my pictures to come out.

This camera is really easy to use and figure out. On the down side, I was also looking for compact, and I got it. Sometimes it is difficult to hold and take pictures. MAKE sure you keep that wrist band on. The functions are great. I also use the micro function when doing really close up pictures for my ebay store (The Bargain Barrel) and it comes out crystal clear. It took me awhile to figure that one out!!

Overall I am really pleased with my purchase and pictures!!

Olympus Stylus 1010, disappointing
I researched point and shoot cameras for a few months, and finally decided to go with the Olympus Stylus 1010 seeing that I liked my mom's older Olympus and have had trouble with Canon cameras taking washed out pictures or breaking. The best part of this camera is the crop feature, and that's about it. The pictures look awesome on the lcd, but when they print, they look flat and the color is way off, especially the color purple. When you take a picture of purple, it comes out blue!!! I thought with technology new cameras would be better, but with this Olympus, the older Olympus digital cameras are better. I am sending this one back, and either getting another Canon, or a Sony Cybershot.

Very nice camera
This camera is very small, and takes nice pictures. You can't beat the price for 10 megapixels, and definately not for the 7x optical zoom. There are settings gallore, some that are actually very useful. One useful one is document mode where you can take a picture of a page up close, then be able to pull it up on your computer and have the text be pefectly legible. Overall, highly recomended.

Not at all a good camera.(Please do not ignore complaints in other 1 & 2 star reviews)
I have an Olympus C 740 and that has 3mp and a 10x optical zoom. It takes much better pictures than the new Olympus 1010 Stylus we recently bought.
I don't understand a lot of technical details about cameras but one thing is for sure the pictures are grainy not upto the 10mp standard. I took same pictures with the my older C 740 camera and the new Stylus 1010 camera (with no or medium zoom) and compared them side by side. The pictures from the new camera are very very very grainy. You will have to be really ignorant to not realize that they are grainy. I am highly disappointed with the positive feedback that people have written. It was very misleading. But the one star and two star reviews are really true reviews. Thank you for those reviews, I should have taken those reviews more seriously. I am returning Stylus 1010 camera. Thanks.

Digital Cameras Novelty - Olympus FE-115

Hello! Perhaps, you won’t agree with me, but the topmost news story for today for me seems to be the one from Olympus. Today, Monday, February 20, 2006, in Singapore, Olympus, a pioneer in digital camera market and the opto-digital technologies leader, has introduced the latest easy-to-use and affordable compact digital camera.

Meet Olympus FE-115!

This new compact digital camera renders digital photography effortless and pleasing. Resting upon a one button - one function design philosophy, such essential functions as shooting, playback and erase are affordable on just one button touch. Besides, users profit from the function “help” in the menu, as it describes all the four scene modes (Portrait, Self-Portrait, Night Scene and Landscape). Equipped with a 5.0 megapixel CCD, Olympus FE-115 delivers first-class results ensuring every single detail to be precisely captured and reproduced. The camera features a 2.8x optical zoom (equiv. 38-106mm on 35mm cameras) 1:3.0-5.0 for extra versatility by bringing remote objects closer. Moreover, total magnification is extended to more than 11x together with a 4x digital zoom. But what I find the most attractive and appealing feature of the camera, is that it allows you to capture objects extremely close up!! – the Super Macro mode makes it possible to take pictures from merely 2cm. Video sequences here are limited only by the size of available memory, what is one more plus in FE-115’s favour. Additionally, PictBridge support gives a possibility of connection to compatible printers without a PC. Powered by AA batteries the camera is fitted with a multi-mode built-in flash. FE-115’s drawbacks? Perhaps, it’s a rather small 3.8cm/1.5” LCD with 130,000 pixels. Olympus FE-115 features a 28MB internal memory plus xD-Picture Card slot. The latter can also be viewed as a shortcoming, since xD cards are quite expensive. Generally, in combination with a light-weight, ergonomically designed box, this new Olympus model is a perfect companion for everyday photographing. It will accompany you wherever and whenever you are heading for. And, oh yes! One more thing. The FE-115 will be stocked at all major dealers and retailers in mid-March 2006 at a recommended $349 retail price.
