Amazing Technology
I've taken jillions of great pictures with my little Exilim....It's good for everything from macro to landscapes. And being able to take lots of nice little movies with good sound is a huge plus. And mine is one of the first models out without modern refinements like anti-shake.

I've gotten it wet, I've turned it off and on jillions of times... it just keeps on taking good pictures.

Get an Extended Warranty or you might as well throw it away
I bought my camera in July 2007 and LOVED it...awesome photos, simple to use, fast shutter speed, etc. I am a trained photographer but wanted a small camera to take with me on trips and to parties, etc., and the size and price was fantastic...SOLD! For once, I did not get an extended warranty, and that was my biggest mistake.

In October 2007, I took the camera to a friend's wedding and it suddenly turned itself off, with the lens still partially out, halfway through the reception. I figured I must have not charged the battery enough, and placed it back in its case to take home, disappointed I only got about a dozen photos from the wedding.

Upon charging the battery, I realized the camera had died, so I dug out the box and called Casio. I then went through a relay to get the camera shipped out for service...three feet of bubble wrap and Express Mail, for starters. Three weeks later, I got a letter in the mail demanding over $100 for repairs, or a "ransom" of a small amount of money to get it back, unusable. If I did not respond promptly, I would never see my little camera again. So I called and talked with someone, who said they hadn't actually looked at it yet (how did they know how much to charge then??) Another person got on the phone (a "tech") and informed me I must have dropped the camera because there was severe damage to the outer lens. Uhm, no. After "negotiating" for two weeks, I was able to reduce the "fix fee" to about $80 with shipping and "service." I figured this was better than out and out buying a new camera (they have since gone down in price, ironically enough). I got the camera back over a month later and have used it sparingly, since my job requires a "fancier" model. Two days ago I tried to turn it on to view photos...and...nothing. It's dead, again. It is NEVER removed from its case unless it's in use, I store it in a fireproof/dirtproof container, and I have maybe taken 10 photos on it since I received it back in December...it's NEVER EVER been dropped, scratched, bumped. I also am the only one who's ever taken photos with it.

Clearly, this is a lemon, and there is no way I'm going to get Casio to repair it again...and even if they agreed, I have already essentially bought this camera one and a half times over. The sad part is, I really love this camera and did not intend to buy another point and click for some time. I do not think every version of this camera is a lemon (and let's face it...they happen), but I will definitely think twice before contacting Casio customer "service" again.

Two lessons learned:

1. Buy the extended warranty.
2. If you must send it in for repair, borrow a camera and take closeups of it before shipping it off; otherwise you will be blatantly accused of negligence, no matter how much you baby your property, like I do.

CASIO terrible warranry service
I returned the camera for warranty repair when the lens would not open. I got back a estimate for repair(134.57) which stated it was not covered because the damage was caused by severe impact to the casing, which it was not. Kind of like having the fox watch the hen house-they claim severe impact so they can try scamming you out of a repair bill. To add insult to injury they charged me $7.95 S&H to get my unrepaired camera back. Shame on Casio.

Blurry Pictures, Anti shake not great! Go with another brand!
I purchased a casio camera based on reviews, and I loved the You Tube feature. When I got it, I liked the looks of it, but was a little disappointed after looking through the menus. It is a little slow to try to get pictures if you are in a rush, and by the time you get the settings right, you miss the shot. I like taking Youtube footage at work, since I live in a tourist town, I can get some interesting footage. My old camera took better video footage. I found that it was grainy. I took it with me on a trip to PA in March. I was traveling with two kids, and we took them to a children's museum. I put the anti shake feature on, and set it on the kids photo selection. Out of the 25 pics I took, about ten came out okay. The kids were running around and they all were blurry. I was so disappointed. The pics only seem to come out clear if you use the flash, and even if the lighting is good, if you don't use the flash the pics are blurry. I had a party the other night, and I got so aggravated I just stopped trying to take photos. I got a total of two pictures. I decided this is it, and I am going to sell this on Ebay and update. I would have also preferred just a plug, and not have to use the dock to charge it, and upload the photos. I just ordered a Sony Cybershot, and it is great. So much better. While this camera does look cool, and has the Ebay and Youtube mode(which I didn't notice a difference when uploading videos on Youtube with this camera or my older fuji camera.) I also have a macbook, so I never use the photo software that came with it, so I don't know how that works. If you are looking for a camera, I would look for a company that is more experianced, and better known for there cameras such as Sony, Nikkon, Kodak, and Fuji. If you just want something good for YouTube, and not really interested in anything else, then I would get it. Other then that look for another model and brand.

Review Of 8.1MP Casio Digital Camera.
The product is excellent and performs wonderfully. Though I am yet to start using it, but I have the confidence that it will meet my expectations. This is based from past experience of using the same type of camera.

Casio digital cameras: EX Z1000

Hi1! This time of year is not very rich in new announcements, but there still have been unveiled a few digital cameras during last weeks. So, let us have a closer look at the new Casio EX Z1000. The Casio EX Z1000 is a compact digital camera which has a 10 megapixels CCD imager, 2.8 inch LCD screen and IS0 3200. It is remarkable for a new Zoom Continuous Shutter mode that makes possible to compare a wide angle and a telephoto shot in the same display. In addition, you can take both shots simultaneously. The novelty belongs to Casio EXILIM ZOOM series, which is known for its stylish and slim designs and compact sizes. The cameras of this series are considered an easy to use devices and among their other pluses, I’d also mention intuitive controls, large displays, and long battery life. The EX-Z1000 boasts a new wide-format 2.8 inch LCD display with impressive 230,400 pixels. Its bright and clear monitor gives a detailed, high-resolution images and data. Its maximum brightness is1200cd/m2 that promises easy shot viewing in bright light. And thanks to its extra screen space, you can view simultaneously a wide angle and a telephoto shot, and a convenient right side set of icon controls. The Caseo EX-Z1000 is a high resolution camera that has an effective 10.1 million pixels and spots the EXILIM Engine high-performance image processor. It also has a high dynamic range, 1/1.8 inch CCD, which delivers low-noise imaging. With such high indices the camera produces high-end, sharp shots even in very large sizes. The EX-Z1000 features a built-in Anti Shake DSP that helps to reduce blur resulting from hands shaking and moving subjects. Besides, it incorporates BEST SHOT function with high sensitivity shooting mode, up to a maximum of ISO 3200, that will also increase the quality of your images. The EX-Z1000 also features the Quick Shutter function that allows for fast focusing, reducing focusing error. Its Movie Mode shoots movies in VGA size (640x480 pixels) at 25 frames per second (Motion JPEG). The camera enables high speed flash photography thanks to its Rapid Flash function which allows you to take up to three shots per second. The novelty has also a good battery life able to take up to 360 shots. The new camera is quite a powerful device packed in a small package. It measures 92 x 58.4 x 22.4 mm and weighs 139g. It will be available soon this month for approximately $600. Visit our online store to find more Casio cameras.
