Excellent camera for zoom lovers
This is the best camera for optical zoom lovers. This is the best in its class and delivers amazing results. I placed order with BuyNowInc they processed the order without any problems and this is the best service I have experienced in the recent past.
The camera does its job very neatly and has some very amazing options. I am quite happy with the camera so far and the only thing that can be improved his zooming capability while taking motion pictures/movie.

great camera
I used it during my holidays in Turkey. Very lightweight for hiking. Also I can used it inside museum as Santa Sophia basilic where flash is forbidden to take details of mosaic.

Battery LIfe
The camera is all they say it is for the most part. The zoom is great, and the picture quality is very good. The display is intuitive, but the LCD is hard to see if you try to elevate the camera to take a shot over the crowd. I would buy this camera again. I found one major draw back and that was the claim, that the supplied battery gets 400 pictures. I took 200 pictures on a full change and the battery was about to give out on me after only 200 shots with maybe 30 using a flash. You will want a back up battery if you take a lot of shots with this camera.

Very Nice Camera
First let me say I bought this camera for my wife, not myself so I have not spent much time with it. But the quality of photos taken by her has markedly improved with this Lumix. The zoom is easy to use, the low light capability is also very good for indoor shots without the flash, giving a very natural color. The battery life is also very good. For around $300.00 USD it's a good value and should it last many years, it will be an excellent purchase. It is so much nicer than my Samsung 8.1MPixel I am considering buying one for myself.

Panasonic FZ-18
This camera is well worth the price and is super versatile. The fact that it allows manual control and shoots RAW images is a big plus. Its also fairly lightweight and not too big in size. The hood accessory included in the box is a nice addition.
It would have been nice to be able to zoom in and out when using the video. But one just has to predetermine the best focal length before pressing record. It would also be nice to have some indicator of focal length in mm when using the zoom. It gives an indication in 2X or 10X and so on. That means you just have to do a quick mental calculation to get an equivalent 35mm focal length. I noticed it has no macro mode on the dial. Most cameras do so I would say its not a good thing.
The toggle or joystick can be very useful once you get used to it. The shutter lag time is almost unnoticable. The 8.1 MP is for the 4:3 ratio mode. When you shoot at 16:9 ratio or the 3:2 (SLR) ration, the MP count drops to 6 and 7 MP. Not really a big deal but something you should note.
The best thing is that this camera does so many things well and will make a great travel camera.

Panasonic Digital Cameras: Lumix DMC-LZ3 and LZ5Hello, people! Today I’d like to introduce you a comparison of two Panasonic digital cameras of LZ-series.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 is a 5 megapixel digital camera with a 2.0 inch LCD display. The LZ5 has a 6 CCD megapixel imager and a 2.5 inch LCD screen.
The both models feature a 6x Optical Zoom lens with a built-in MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) and a High Sensitivity mode (ISO 1600), that make possible to take pictures of moving subjects and in low light situations.
The LZ3 and LZ5 spot the image stabilization system and the enhanced Sensitivity mode. These two features are essential for taking sharp and clear images in different situations.
MEGA O.I.S. is the image stabilization system that has two corrective modes. The system prevents graininess and blur caused by hand shaking. Besides, thanks to this feature, the cameras produce perfect shots even in dim light and at night and allow shooting at slow shutter speeds.
The new models have the improved ISO range, which records at up to 1600. The enhanced High Sensitivity mode reduces a handshake effect and improves images of moving subjects.
The DMC-LZ3 and LZ5 incorporates 6x optical zoom lens (equivalent to a 37 – 222 mm zoom on a 35 mm film camera), that can be extended up to 8.3x (7.5x for LZ3) in 3-Megapixel image. The Extra Optical Zoom function allows you to easily capture and magnify subjects in distant locations, as well as to take impressionable photos with soft-focused backgrounds.
The LZ3 and LZ5 models are also equipped with the Venus Engine Plus, that improves image processing in both speed and image quality. It saves energy consumption, making the battery more durable. (The DMC-LZ3 and LZ5 use 2 AA batteries).
The large 2 and 2.5 inch LCD screens are perfect for recording and composing shots as they allow the display of images even in tiny thumbnail size. Besides, the High Angle LCD function makes the cameras easy to view from bottom angle.
The LZ3 and LZ5 have 14 Scene Modes, that help you to get high quality pictures. Thanks to the Simple Mode, the cameras are very easy to use, as it makes most settings automatically. The Movie Mode with built-in microphone records in VGA size at 30 fps.
The cameras are supplied with 14 megabytes of internal memory, and there is a function that makes it possible to copy photos from the built-in memory to the SD Memory Card and vice versa.
The LZ3 is available in silver and the LZ5 – in silver and black. They measure 100 x 62 x 45 mm (3.94 x2.44 x 1.77 inch) and weigh 183g. (LZ3) and 186g (LZ5).
