| 2008-07-16 Amazing projector for price but needs more contrast I've done my fair of research and this is by far the best 1080p projector for the money. I've been using it with my blu-ray player and I highly recommend it. If you have any ambient light in the room and plan on watching it during the day get the "UB" version of this projector instead. It's a little bit more pricey but completely worth it. Even with a grey screen it was hard to watch this projector in my family room during the day without blacking out all the windows. | 2008-04-29 worth every penny This projector worth every penny for the picture quality you get. It is not well known by public, maybe that is why it is such a bargain. | 2008-01-29 Great value! Purchased to upgrade my existing home theater projector and am very happy with my choice. The picture is great for HDTV, DVD and Blu-Ray. Bottom line... EXCELLENT projector! | 2008-01-27 Very happy with my new purchase I bought this projector after agonizing over the decision for a month and convincing the wife to let me pull the trigger. I was replacing a very old VGA quality Sharp projector that I really disliked using because the picture quality was so bad.
I got the new projector and opened it up right away when I got it. This new projector was much smaller than the old one and was pretty light so it was easy to mount up on the ceiling. Being in Denver a mile high up MSL one of the first things I had to do was put the projector in high altitude mode which brings up the only real negative I have with this projector. In high light mode the fan can be very loud. In low mode its tolerable and still produces plenty of light in my theater room.
The picture quality of this projector feeding it a High Def signal is amazing. Discovery Channel and National Geo HD channels are my new best friends and even watching the HD versions of network shows and sports events are eye opening experiences. Even normal def signals look pretty good although obviously fuzzier on a 90" wide screen.
Light others I agree that the blacks could be blacker but really unless you are a big video person you probably won't notice. The color settings out of the box and although I've played with it a bit I'm partially color blnd so I'd probably make it worse. :<)
Very happy with the purchase. | |

Epson: New Photo Fine Player P-4500 Hello! Today I am going to talk about Epson Japan novelty – its Photo Fine Player “Multimedia Storage Viewer”, which has been recently announced.
The obvious advantage of Epson photo viewer is its incredibly sharp screen. Its high quality 3.8" VGA LCD screen makes Epson the perfect choice for viewing high-resolution images both for professionals and enthusiasts.
Video quality is another advantage. The movies are excellent - smooth and extremely sharp. But the video battery life could be much longer, actually it’s well below average for a portable media player.
The new version features wider RAW file support (comparing with the previous models P-2000, P-4000), which includes Canon CRW / CR2, Konica Minolta 7D / 5D, Nikon RAW (D-SLR), Pentax RAW (D-SLR), Epson RAW, Olympus RAW (E-1, E-300, E-500).
Among the main minuses, I would name first of all its poor audio and video capabilities (the latter has been improved in the latest version). Also, the battery is very short, as I have mentioned, and the device itself is fairly chunky.
Weight: 438 g (1.0 lb) – even heavier than the previous versions (P-2000 - 415 g (0.9 lb);
Dimensions: 148 x 85 x 33 mm (5,8 x 3,3 x 1,3 in)
The price can be another problem. The P-4500 is not available for sale yet, but the expected price is approximately $640 (75, 000 YEN).
Now, I would like you to see what has been improved and what has not been changed in the P-4500 in comparison with the P-4000.
