Customers Reviews 2009-01-07 Best Phone ever I purchased 4 of these phones and it was the best phone purchase I ever made. It has good battery life, I've never counted the hours, but the phones claims 17 hours and I believe it. I have left it off the charger for 2 or more days and it's still ready to go. When it needs charging I just pick up another phone. It has good sound, memory and is easy to use. I have given this phone as gifts three times. | 2009-01-06 Easy to setup and to use Easy to setup with lots of useful features such as copying base unit address book to other units with the push of a few buttons. Also, this unit gives us clear reception with no apparent interference from wireless network which was a problem with our previous phone. | 2009-01-04 Inadequate range This phone had some major inadequacies, one that was a deal breaker, and several that were big disadvantages compared to the phone it was supposed to replace. The deal breaker was that the handset in my bedroom was out of range from the base in the living room. This has never been a problem with any other phone I've had, so I don't think it's inherent in the house, which is about 3,000 sq. ft. That makes me think it probably wouldn't reach outside either, which my other phone did fine. Other disadvantages compared to the other phone: the digital numbers were difficult to read, not only because of their rather primitive configuration but also because of the orange background and the light gray print; there was no full color; the only readout was in the handset, i.e., there was no additional readout on the base itself so if the handset is somewhere else, you can't see who is calling; there is no indication of whether there are messages or how many there are (you have to push "messages" to find out); there was no voice announcement of the incoming call's number, which is really handy when you're across the room from the phone. So I'm sending the phone back and looking for one just like the one I'm replacing, which, by the way, has finally started acting weird after about eight years of use. All in all, though, this phone seems to work fine except for the things I've mentioned, but if you have a large house, I definitely would not recommend it because of the range problem. | 2009-01-03 Great Phone! My husband & I have a had several portable phones and this is by far the best one. We got this one at BJ's when we were members and has served us well.
Right now we have wall jack issues even though we get all of our service through our cable provider so we have the base in the second bedroom, which serves as an office. One phone is in our bedroom and the other in the basement room so the one from the base is on the main floor. It rarely needs charging even after several days being off the base. I need to get an extender phone, but it seems kind of expensive...half the cost of the full system!
I'm not crazy about the audible phone message system, but it's ok. Would like it if it displayed the number of messages. My husband hates using it as an answering machine, and he never plays the messages. However, I do like that you can pick up messages from the phone itself and it shows when you have messages. I don't like that you can turn off the answering machine system with a touch of the button on the top of the base, and this recently happened and took a minute to figure out.
Otherwise, this has served us well for at least three years, which is better than some other appliances/electronics! | 2009-01-03 Great Quality, Cant be easier to setup and use Crisp & Clear voice quality, great feature set and their durable build make this cordless package optimal for everybody looking for a cordless phone system.
These are easier to setup and use (the on handset menu system could have been more intuitive). | |

Panasonic Digital Cameras: Lumix DMC-LZ3 and LZ5Hello, people! Today I’d like to introduce you a comparison of two Panasonic digital cameras of LZ-series.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 is a 5 megapixel digital camera with a 2.0 inch LCD display. The LZ5 has a 6 CCD megapixel imager and a 2.5 inch LCD screen.
The both models feature a 6x Optical Zoom lens with a built-in MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) and a High Sensitivity mode (ISO 1600), that make possible to take pictures of moving subjects and in low light situations.
The LZ3 and LZ5 spot the image stabilization system and the enhanced Sensitivity mode. These two features are essential for taking sharp and clear images in different situations.
MEGA O.I.S. is the image stabilization system that has two corrective modes. The system prevents graininess and blur caused by hand shaking. Besides, thanks to this feature, the cameras produce perfect shots even in dim light and at night and allow shooting at slow shutter speeds.
The new models have the improved ISO range, which records at up to 1600. The enhanced High Sensitivity mode reduces a handshake effect and improves images of moving subjects.
The DMC-LZ3 and LZ5 incorporates 6x optical zoom lens (equivalent to a 37 – 222 mm zoom on a 35 mm film camera), that can be extended up to 8.3x (7.5x for LZ3) in 3-Megapixel image. The Extra Optical Zoom function allows you to easily capture and magnify subjects in distant locations, as well as to take impressionable photos with soft-focused backgrounds.
The LZ3 and LZ5 models are also equipped with the Venus Engine Plus, that improves image processing in both speed and image quality. It saves energy consumption, making the battery more durable. (The DMC-LZ3 and LZ5 use 2 AA batteries).
The large 2 and 2.5 inch LCD screens are perfect for recording and composing shots as they allow the display of images even in tiny thumbnail size. Besides, the High Angle LCD function makes the cameras easy to view from bottom angle.
The LZ3 and LZ5 have 14 Scene Modes, that help you to get high quality pictures. Thanks to the Simple Mode, the cameras are very easy to use, as it makes most settings automatically. The Movie Mode with built-in microphone records in VGA size at 30 fps.
The cameras are supplied with 14 megabytes of internal memory, and there is a function that makes it possible to copy photos from the built-in memory to the SD Memory Card and vice versa.
The LZ3 is available in silver and the LZ5 – in silver and black. They measure 100 x 62 x 45 mm (3.94 x2.44 x 1.77 inch) and weigh 183g. (LZ3) and 186g (LZ5).
